Hi, remove toner out, slide cover in left side, pull out the drum unit by metal wire hinge, on top of the drum are two blue handles wich you need to realese, put in new drum, lock again the two blue handles, put it back in ( drum unit ), slide cover to right, put back the toner.
Press the usermode star-the star just above the lcd display-and then # key,scroll with the arrows until clear is displayed press ok and scroll again untill ERR is displayed press ok,Swotch the machine off and on again.
Hi, if you take the back panel off you will see a LED at the bottom right corner if it is OFF then you have to change the power supply, if it is on then you have to change the main board. Try to take the drum and dev unit out first when testing.
It means that the internal drum unit is full of waste toner and that the drum is worn out too. The people at cannon made the drum unit to last when the waste toner internal compartment is full.
When you buy a new drum the instructions are in the box and very easy to install.
