When our tile backsplash was sprayed with a sealant, the workman got the spray on the stainless steel cooktop. What is the bes way to remove this dried on spray? I tried stainless steel cleaner with papertowel and that did nothing. I am afraid to scrub with anything abraisive as I do not want to scratch the ss surface. Please advise.
Easy peasy.
Use Bar Keeper's Friend and a damp sponge.
Rinse.
Wipe with mineral oil (in most stainless steel ceaners)
Good as new.
Try paint thinners , but before you do any thing you need to call the workman to see what brand of glue he has used.or to come out and clean it off for you or to see if thinners will work , it normally does but when i do resturant kichens out any spillages of glue is removed straight away.you will need to use polish cleaner after the thinners to stop any further marks appearing

have you tried cooktop cleaner? this seams to work pretty good at getting stains out of stainless steal. (You know...cooktop cleaner is really just car wax if you had some try this on a little area and see how it works and if you like the results...there you go.) let me know what you think. But like i said always do a test point before doing the whole surface.

the discoloration is from the heat. you can buy a stainless steel cleaner or use simple green for the grease.

Someone else suggested Easy Off Oven Cleaner (I used fume free). I just finished using the Easy Off (make sure you cover the electronic ignition) with Q-Tips and my top looks almost as clean as when I first got it.
Hi,
Yes, the moisture is probably the problem...

hi my name is mark, is this cooktop brushed stainless. if it is try a green scotchbrite pad. make sure you scrub with the brushed stainless not against it. or try ac acatone with a soft cloth. be careful acatone is very flammable then use a stainless polish.
