After an automatic update my Dell XPS (64 bit) tells me that I have no Network Adaptor. If I restore the system to a date in the past it majically appears again and I can go online again. At least, I think it's an update that's causing the problem. I've disabled the appropriate bit of the Adaptors Power Management options. The problem is a persistant one. Any advice gratefully received! Thanks James
Where is the Network Adapter originating from? Windows? If the Update is a Windows update, Hide the update. It may be an error, it's happen to me on a HP Network Adapter, When I installed it the Ethernet Adapter would not work, I rolled-back the driver on the Ethernet Adapter and it worked perfectly. I "Hide" the Windows update in Windows Updates.

Just had an email from FixYa asking for more information.
I think there's an update that is being automatically downloaded that makes ny Network Driver (a Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet) 'disappear' from my computer. Under 'Computermanagement/Network Adaptors' it simply is not there. Only by doing a System Restore to a couple of weeks ago does the relevant green light appear on the router, and then we're back up and running. Happens daily. Hope someone has a bright idea!
Thanks, James.
