SOURCE: when I pull the trigger, the nailer just goes

The first thing that comes to mind is they are not being oiled properly. Follow the directions for the number of drops of air tool oil to put in daily. If they have been run dry, this makes quick work of the Orings and requires rebuilding the nailer with new Orings.

The second thing is if contamination has gotten into the cylinder bottom thaat can happen if a jam has ever occured.

Dis-assemble the nailer and inspect for these conditions.

My brand new DC608 18 gauge nailer jams every time on the 2nd nail.

Per your addendum I would have first told you to check that you are using the proper guage nails. Second you should make sure you are loading the nails in the lowest channel in the magazine so they are at the bottom of the magazine. If you load them into the top of the magazine they have more time to go off course before they get into the wood.

My nail gun will not shoot nails any suggestions?

could be several problems, are you using the right guage nails, is there a nail jammed in the nose assembly, is the driver bent or broken, I would look for a jammed nail first and if none then I would remove the cap and check the condition of the cylinder and piston. they have a bad habit of breaking the driver blade loose from the piston

Brand new brad nailer shoots 2 nails and then it blows air

first make sure that you are using the right guage nails and if so I would return it to the place of purchase for replacement., the blowing of air could indicate a jammed nail in the track, look for that first and make sure the driver is retracting fully.

Will work fine for one or two nails and then nails jam in the gun or it shoots two or three at once.

This is iffy... but PC nailers are nit picky. If you used someone elses nails, it can (and will) jam and mess up.
So, if Porter Cable nails are being used, clean and lube the nail shoot (with a few drops of air tool oil).

If that does not work, Invest 19 dollars in a new, 18 guage nailer at Harbor Freight. I have 2 of those and they have been trouble free for 3 years.

Nailer jams with 1-5/8 brads

It sound to me that the 1 5/8 brads are not 18 guage but probably 16 guage and they will not work. Double check them first before going any further. You can usually lay them next to the smaller ones that work and see the size difference, if not let me know and I will dig deeper.
