Sony cybershot t300 lcd screen remains dark when switched on

Hi,
Your camera must be experiencing these symptoms due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems. If the problem is due to your dropping the camera, you might be out of luck.
If you have not dropped your camera and still facing this problem, then contact service people to replace the CCD imager in your camera .

Hope this helps .

Cyber Shot DSC-T1, Possible CCD Problem

Hello,
When ccd imager is defective, picture result on still image and video get bad in either cases.
Your camera problem is some thing different and hardware failure is possible like data processing IC but in any case, digital processing board has to be replaced and I'm sure its price would be above and over the camera worth.
You can give try by removing and plugging back the flexible wire board ( ribbon) of lens and ccd imager attached to circuit board. Be careful when handling as flexible wire board can be damaged easily.
Thank you.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80

It sounds like a problem called Banding. In banding, charge is spilled from saturated CCD cell to teh neighbouring cells. There is nothing you can do about it except exchange the camera.

Try contacting Sony support.
