Looks like the white switch that is inside the lower door latch is missing on the top latch. The door does not close evenly.
Hello Scott Noble - If I was in your position, I personally will recommend consulting a certified technician first for an accurate diagnosis. Depending on what part(s) is damaged from the door, the microwave could possibly have faulty switches, door switches, or latch which only a professional can repair.

please dont even try this, fix it yourself job!!! yes it is an easy fix!! if you know what you are doing,, but if you dont know what you are doing,,,, well to be blunt,
you could just be finding a fast way of killing yourself!
even with the power plug pulled out the wall scocket and stood on a rubber mat!!! just one tuch across the capacitor and you could very well grow wings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do you realy wont to die??? call the guy back to fit a new micro switch in the door lock as its set back deep in side the unit and its a cheep part as well
but just like all fixes,,, its not the parts you pay for,
its knowing how to fit them in that costs you so much
this not knowing could cost you your life???????
play it safe,, please,,

The only parts that are available for this unit by model number are the tray inside and the feet on the outside.
If you were adventurous and found a way to take it apart and remove the door switches you might be able to match them up at an appliance parts dealer but short of that it sounds like a lost cause.
I know that is not what you want to hear, and I as well do not like being the bearer of bad news.....

I would replace the door switches and set up the door gap to 1/8" just enough to alow for a little play.
Setting the door square is acheived by slackening the lower door hinge and re tightening it when the door is square.
Hope that helps.

The unit normally draws about 13 amps of current when it's running, so it's not unusual for the wires to get warm.
A bad bottom door switch is very common in these units.
Once it's fixed, make sure no one opens the door while it's cooking. That causes premature switch failure.
Tell them to hit the "stop" pad first.

One or two of the door switches has failed, replacement only option, consider price.
Good Morning friend, thank you for your post!
Based off the information you have provided your microwave will start when the door is open and stop when it is closed. It sounds like a possible issue within your control panel or door latch assembly. I would suggest you reset your microwave which can be done by unplugging it for roughly ten minutes.
If that does not correct the issue I would consult a professional technician to come out and properly diagnosis your appliance. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt
