I have the white dots starting on my Mitsubishi WD-65737. I see posts about it might be the dlp chip, but is there a way to fix this myself without buying new parts. I just can't afford to spend a lot of money on TV parts. Please help... Thank you
You have to remove the lower panel on the back of your tv, then remove the light engine. Unhook the wires attached to the DMD board. Remove the DMD board. Remove the heat cink from the DMD board. remove the optical lens but don't touch the lens. There is a video on shopjimmy.com that shows the entire procedure. Takes 2 hours. The optical lens can be cleaned with an eyeglass cloth, same for the DLP chip lens. no wet solutions on lenses. Remove dust from other internal parts with compressed air in a can. Your picture will be clean and clear. Wear latex gloves and make sure you are grounded to prevent static electricity.

Hello zero_x08, 1) remove the cover of the TV and find the light engine. 2) using canned air blow dust from the mirro assembly 3) test the screen by turning the TV on after the system has warmed back to room tempurature. This should clean the mirror Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

Hello
There are tow reaons for this fault. The first one is with the colour whell as you mentioned here. The second and most importan one is with its bulb itsef. Colour wheel won't cost too much. Just replace it first and see whether it helps you. If not, bulb may have to be replaced.OL
SOURCE: What can I use to clean the mirror on my 65" MItsubishi model #65737??
If its a WD 65737 do not attempt it---special mirror and any marks will show in picture---Contact Mitsubishi as they do make a special liquid cleaner for this but real care has to be taken, not to mention just getting at the mirror correctly-----why does it need cleaning?
