Cannot fiqure out how to replace printhead on Kodak 5500 printer. my kodak 5300 has new ink cartridge but will not print black just color. I have tried everything i was told to do but still no black just color. My printer is close to a year old and has been very close to unreliable. I have an older HP that never fails. When the kodak does finally print it is great.
I had the same problem and wasted money on 2 new cartridges before finding the answer on several blogs. Call Kodak Tech Support. In this case they are very good. Tell them the problem, they walk you through some steps and then give up. They will then send you out a new print head (a cheap and disposable device). I thought about buying another one for the next time things go bad but I can't find a source. They send it in 3-5 days, free. I think Kodak is embarrassed about their bad system (printheads should not go bad so fast!)
The Kodak AiO printers 5000 series and ESP series PRINTHEADs has orange protective cap that need to be remove to fit on the printer carriage. For the ink cartridges 
there is also a orange protective cap. 364 views
