Tillia Foodsaver VAC 370 won't stop vaccuming to seal

I can't find my manual and it's no longer available now at foodsaver.com, so I'm at a loss for what to do. This Foodsaver has no problem sealing when it's in Seal Only mode. It has no problem vacuuming when it's in Vacuum & Seal mode, except it never stops vacuuming. I can lift up, then push back down to seal, but of course some air gets in. I’ve cleaned everywhere I can, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any help will be appreciated.

We tried, but broke it when trying to remove a vacuum hose. Oh well. We've gotten a good 5 years of use out of it. BTW, there was no adjustment screw on the back. The only screws we found were the ones on the bottom.

My Foodsaver 820 wouldn't stop vacuuming, and after fiddling with it and doing a little research, I located the vacuum switch on the circuit board and de-soldered it (verry simple, only 2 solder points). On the underside of the switch it looks kind of like an allen head screw. NOTE before attempting this, make note of how far the screw is recessed into the housing and/or count how may turns it takes to remove it! I removed the screw and spring and sprayed electrical contact cleaner in the holes and in the hole where there is a little brass disc. (Wear safety goggles for this) The little brass disc is what makes the contacts that turn the pump off after reaching the necessary vacuum. Mine was gummed up and stuck so it would never make contact to shut off. I reassembled it, and re-soldered it back on the board. I then put the whole thing back together and it works like new.

You could probably make the same repair without removing the piece from the board since there is a hole in the circuit board where you can gain access to the screw, but it will be messy. If you have any experience with soldering, it is about as simple as it gets

I had to take mine apart and clean the vacuum line out. It got tiny amounts of liquid in it over time and did the same thing. Before you take it apart, try setting the adjustment screw on the back. It's for altitude but, a slight turn could get you the results you need.

My Foodsaver Vac 370 wasn't working at all. I took it apart to find the little plastic barbs for the hoses broken off in two places. I glued them back into place with Crazy Glue, which worked. This gave it suction, but it still wasn't sealing. I added a momentary switch across the contacts on the vaccumm switch. Whether this worked, or perhaps the original solder was "cold joints," I don't know. All I know for sure is that it works perfectly for me now.

Foodsaver vac 800 vauums but won't seal, sealer works with seal-only setting.

Chances are that you foam gasket are not doing their job anymore. You can make a test by humidifying them with a paper towel. If it's works, you are due to replace them. They will usually last about 2 to 3 years depending on the use.

They are available through ebay or Amazon

Perhaps the bags you are using are not suitable. If they are too thin it will not vacuum air out.
