Hi lavernhess There is no direct solution to this issue since there is no driver running under Windows 7 for your product . You could install a virtual version of XP on your machine with http://download.cnet.com/VMware-Player/3000-2094_4-10470784.html or via Microsoft's if you are using Integral or Professional . Otherwise , you will need to purchase a recent version of Printmaster compatible with W 7 , if available . Best regards , fanaudi .
There are newer drivers than have been released. The link for the newer driver can be located here:

Hope this helps,

You didn't mention operating systems, and that could make a big difference. If your new computer is running Windows 7 and the old one has an older system (Vista, XP, etc.) you could need a new driver for the printer. You'll need to check on the Lexmark web site to see if they have an updated driver. If they don't, your old printer and new computer may not be compatible.
Its possible that your f4288 software CD only has drivers for Windows XP or older operating systems. Unfortunately they are not compatible with Windows 7. Try going to the HP website and look at the support area for the F4288, see if they have updated Windows 7 drivers or look for Vista drivers if Windows 7 are not available (as Vista drivers are supposed to be compatible with Windows 7). If Windows 7 (or Vista) drivers are not available on the HP website you are out of luck for now until HP releases new drivers.
Have you tried the "compatability" mode built into Vista. Also go to Microsfts site and search for answers as they now have better number of "fixes" to issues similar to yours.
Starting from the start plug in the device and XP will detect and look for new drivers a search for drivers is usually done in the inf directory under windows or winnt directory If a driver is not found the computer pops up a question did a Cd or software come with this device if you install the software the a reboot is usally needed if you do not do a reboot you can try once the drivers have been installed unplug the device and plug it back in again the computer will search for the new drivers that are installed and should set up the device to work If it does not work you will need to get driver for the device that will work with XP I have a scanner than need XP drivers but will work on one of the older computers but not XP
No need for disc, don't worry.
Radio Shack/Gigaware 26-949 USB to Serial Cable drivers (32/64bit) can be found at driverupdate us
I hope I have helped you...
Take a look, and enjoy
you shouldnt need a device driver for your pda to work along side with Vista, as Vista has it's own Windows mobile device centre which should run as soon as you connect your pda to a usb port.
If it doesnt run, then open up windows mobile device centre in programmes and check the mobile device settings as to whether usb is set to connect to the centre.
******* thing dont work
