This is normal when you play older 4:3 pictures on a 16:9 TV, which all new TV's are today. If it occurs on all pictures, then you have changed something in the setup. Look for a setting for aspect ratio, and try changing it to 16:9
Usually to change the video format of your tv you will find it in the remote control try to look for format button in your remote there you can change the different aspect ratio of your video format settings. hope this help good day and best regards.
Set the all settings to wide, not auto as if the player is set to 4:3 format then this sends a signal to the tv telling it so.Go into the setup menu and choose picture format set to 16:9 or wide. Set the tv to auto and this will keep all picture inputs to origional format. I.E. if it was recorded in 16:9 it will play in 16:9. You could set the tv to 16:9 but it will distort the picture on 4:3 recordings.
1. Connect PS3 to your TV
2. Select the Correct HDMI input on your TV
3. Press and hold the [power] button on the PS3
4. perform setup.
These are the steps to setup the video output for the PS3, It is possible that it is set to a resolution that your TV does not support.
If this doesn't work, you may want to contact Sanyo to ask if they have some protection circuit for the HDMI input. Some manufactures TV's will deactivate(turn OFF) the HDMI input under certain conditions. Unplugging the TV or some other procedure usually turns it back ON.
Try resetting the settings. In the menu there should be a settings option. Reset them to default of facory settings. Here is a website that mayl help you with this.
Let me know if this works out for you.
I don't know if you are saying that you are not getting a screen or that you are not getting picture. If you are not getting picture but have light on screen, try autosearching, I mean tuning, if you are not getting any light on the screen your tv is dead, you should get it repaired.
