Error code 31 on Mitsubishi vs-50609. What does it mean?

2,1 is X-ray protection or excessive High voltage

It is a circuit repair or may be related to a Glycol leak

Unplug the tv and leave it unplugged for a couple hours. Plug tv back in press reset button. TV led may flash for a day but should come on. I did this last night to mine and it came on at 11am today.

To unlock the front keyboard press and hold the menu button on the tv for 10 seconds.

Sounds like what happened to my hitachi. Power voltage regulator on the main pwr board.

If you have STKs 392-110s 1 is shorted if so replace both upgrade with180s also check hori output transistor ans 1200pf 2k volts.

Seems to be the power button is stuck on the tv itself

I gave this advice to someone with this same problem so here it is again:

It sounds like your shutdown circuit is being activated. This is due to excess current being drawn. This usually happens in the High Voltage section of the TV or one of the deflection stages. Due to the nature of this problem I would suggest that you take it to a local TV repair shop or have a TV repair person come out and take a look at the issue. The HV section is dangerous and should be dealt with by a qualified TV repair technician.

Turn on tv....press menu 0-1-7-0......make sure initialize is highlighted and press enter....This will default the tv to the original settings..........Do not press enter if anything else is highlighted............Turn tv off /on you should be ok.
