What is the capacity for ge wbvh5200j3ww washer

On the GE appliance support site, they list a WWRE5240DWW washer with a 3.5 cubic foot capacity. There is also a WWRE5240DCC with the same capacity. Based on the parts list for various GE washers with similar model numbers, the WWRE5240D1WW is also a 3.5 cubic foot washer and is minimally different from the other washers.

Sounds like you have a bad board and needs to be replaced.
Is this washer under warranty and if not did you take out an extended warranty?

The GE has a capacity of 3.3 cubic feet. You did not list the model of the kitchenaid. Make sure the GE was stored correctly because if it might have lost oil or gotten brittle belts or gaskets. Also it might have frozen.

Just click on the underlined text above to view an electronic copy of the manual.
On page 8 of that manual you will see instructions related to the LOCK feature on your washer.
It says that to LOCK or UNLOCK the washer, just hold down the DELAY START button for 3 seconds. The lock icon on the display should then disappear.
If that does not work for your model, then try holding down the SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.
One of these two procedures should solve your problem.

Just started having the same issue (ours will be 2 yrs old next month) we are thinking its the rubber seal tube around the front that is worn out....

AFTER PUSHING THE START/PAUSE BUTTON IT JUST BEEPS AND WILL NOT LOCK DOOR AND ELECTRIC SUPPLY IS GOOD

can the door swing be reversed on this ge washer?

I would remove the back and investigate for mouse/rat damage. If you had them in storage a rodent may have made himself a home. They like to chew thru wires and plastic components. Or a wire connection may have come loose when you moved them into storage or back from storage.

the drum straps are probebly broken just remove the front then remove the 2 1\4 inch screws that hold the top on remove the top the straps are located on top of the tub they are black rubber

not sure exzakley ive repaired thousands of washers though.just dont pack the clothes in it.God bless,tom
