I have a blackberry and forgott my password

I got this phone from one of my friend who was moving abroad. He was using airtel sim with. I inserted my vodaphone sim in it and phone got locked. i have tried using password "blackberry" but it says wrong password. I dont mind if data is lost cos its not my data. Please advice how to put this phone in use. Model- Blackberry curve 8900

There isn't a way to disable the password of the BlackBerry device without actually knowing the password. Sorry. What will happen is if you enter the incorrect password 10 times the device will wipe itself, and clear the password. Of course, all data will be lost unless you have a backup of it.

Which model are you wanting help with - You mention both the 8300 and 8900?

In any case - The 8300 doesn't have a reset button? On the 8900 it may be behind the battery cover if so you will need a paper clip.

The following advice is general to Blackberry's and will help clear the memory and reset issues - These are both the soft and hard reset.

You can do a soft reset using Left Alt, Right Shift and Delete - Hold down keys simultaneously for a couple of seconds.

If that doesn't work - Try power down, remove the battery for a minute or so, re-insert battery and then power back on.
