SOURCE: alignment problem on lexmark x4650 printer

Try this

Turn off you printer
remove the cartridges
and try gently moving the ink cartridges carrier from left to right
for about a min.

also you can try to wipe machine oil on the bar that holds the ink cartridge carrier
then put the cartridges back inside the carrier
then turn on you printer
and try to print again
If problem persist

TRY THIS:

turn off your printer
unplug the power cable from the printer
lift you printer and put it in an upside down position
then shake the printer from left to right
see if there's any foreign objects stuck inside the printer

Paper aligns but nothing will print on Lexmark x4650

Are you getting any error msgs when you try to print? It's possible that you have a communication problem. Make sure that your computer and printer is able to talk.
Since no details were provided, you can try to uninstall the Lexmark software and download an updated driver online at www.lexmark.com.

New ink cartridge load test run prints lines on paper then tells me to take tape off cartridge which i've already done ???????

1. I would shut the printer down and pull the cartridge back out.
2. Find a Number 2 pencil with a good eraser on it.
3. Pull the Ink Cartridge back out, and use the pencil eraser to clean off all of the copper contacts that are behind the cartridge.
4. Replace the cartridge, and run a head clean process.
5. Align the heads and test the printing.

That should fix your issue.

Recently renewed ink cartridges in Lexmark x4650 with genuine Lexmark replacements and keep getting one or two lines of 'wavy text' per page

This can either be blocked nozzles on the cartridge, or an alignment problem. Go to Start - All Programs - Lexmark - Solution Center and print out a Clean Nozzle Page and an Alignment Page from the maintenance tab. That should fix the issue.

I keep getting an error that says to take the tape off the cartridge and check the paper. There is no problem with the cartridge or paper.

Hi. Most probably, just a miscommunication in the printer. Might be the cartridges are not seated properly or just needs cleaning. Try removing the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover of the printer. Unplug the printer from the power source for now. Take a damp paper towel and place it on the table. Set the cartridge on the towel like how you're placing the cartridge in the printer - with the nozzles facing down. Draw 2-3 lines in one direction to wipe the nozzles clean. Do the same to the other cartridge. Plug the power source for the printer. When the printer's ready, load the cartridges back. When it tries to print an alignment page, just leave it be. When it's done printing the alignment page, check again if the error pops up. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I replaced both ink cartridges but the printer will only print the alignment page and then it tells me that the cart are empty

Hello. The cartridges may not be seated properly in the carrier or just needs cleaning. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Unplug printer from the power source. Grab a damp paper towel and place it on the table. Set the cartridge on the towel with the nozzles facing down and make about 2-3 lines just to clean the nozzles. Do the same thing to the other cartridge. Plug printer back to power source. when it's ready, load the cartridges back in and let it print the alignment page again. After printing, check if you still have the problem. Hope this helps.

I have a Lexmark X4650 I refilled the cartridge and now I cannot get the printer to recognize the cartridge it prints black only and tells me Color is low . any suggestions on how to bypass this prob get...

I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I can't refill the Lexmark 36 and 37 cartridges. Your printer deactivates the electronics on this cartridge when the ink levels get low. Your printer needs a black and a color cartridge with functioning electronics to print. I NEVER recommend Lexmark printers. They are poorly made, don't accept refills easily, and have the most expensive ink across manufacturers and it is designed to clog your cartridge unless you use it quickly. If you keep this machine you are stuck buying Lexmark brand ink (the return program cartridges are a little cheaper though).

Lexmark Z715 will not print but computer says it is printing

The Z715 needs a #50 black ink cartridge and a working color cartridge to print. To check if there ios ink coming out of your black or color cartridge touch the bottom of it to a paper towel and if you see a solid black blob or 3 blobs of Yellow, blue and red for the color then your problem is else where. If U are printing stuff from the internet sometimes the printer will try to use the color cartridge to print this so even though the black is working it comes out blank if the color is dry

My Lexmark 5470 won't print anything but the alignment page. Then it says to remove the tape from the cartridge. There is no tape on the cartridge. I have cleaned it and it still won't print. Help I need...

I have the same problem as posted by tahoeowner. The printer indicates that I have an alignment issue and tells me to remove any tape from the cartridge. There is no tape on either cartridge, nor will the printer work with any other cartridges. I'm getting tired of wasting paper and ink with all the printer's "retry" messages.
