will give you enough help to get you started.

try spraying some wd-40 or silicon spray on the reverse button or lever & let it set for awhile & try to work it

For oiling the machine you need to look at the picture on the link below. The oil points are the red arrow.

some call it a lamp cover door or face plate it's on the left side of the sewing machine
some sewing machines have a hinge at the back of the face plate, you can gently pull it open to change the bulb
some machines -in the middle of the face plate there is a plastic plug, use a screw driver to gently lift the plug & then unscrew the screw & change the bulb.put the face plate back on put the srew back in & put the plug back in to concile the screw

Try re-threading the machine with the presser foot up.

This opens the tension and allows the thread to "seat".

Thread with the presser foot down and the tension is closed and the thread cannot seat.
