Kenmore Coldspot side by side model 106-52542101. We have water dripping out water spout. It isn't all the time, so we keep a glass under spout to catch it when it does. When it does leak, it will overflow the glass and go all over the floor. We have tried pulling back on dispenser after getting a glass of water and this sometimes stops the leak. It wasn't doing it for a while. We recently changed the water filter thinking it might be dirt in the line, but it still does it sporadically

SOURCE: Water dispenser won't stop dispensing water!

Hi I dont have the knowledge of your fridge, but I'm just going to throw this idea your way , please forgive me if im wrong :)

Perhaps the problem is due to syphonage, the discharged liquids are creating a vacuum along the line.

Did you reposition the height of any supply hoses ? none of them should be above/higher the outlet source itself.

You could also try installing a inline reverse flow suppressor
(small plastic filter that only allows one-way direction of flow.

Water dispensers don't work like a faucet. When depressed a circuit is made electrically to the water valve in the bottom back of the machine. Water is, if working normally, either 100% on or 100% off.
If you ask for water, and the supply is normal, but fails to stop except for dribble, then the dual valve in the back of the machine is not sealing properly, and a new valve will have to be fitted.

SOURCE: How do I replace the

Hello,

Ice makers and water dispensers are convenient to have on your refrigerator, but can also cause a lot of aggravation if they are not functioning properly.

If your water valves are not defective and you are still experiencing water or ice delays, you may have a clog in your refrigerator hose line.
Instructions and material needed to fix it up.

  • Towel,Flathead screwdriver,New water hose
  1. Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator and place a towel under the line to soak up any residual water that leaks from the hose when you remove it. Unplug the refrigerator.
  2. Disconnect the hose from the back of the refrigerator by pushing in on the collar while pulling the water tube out. If you have a model with an ice and water dispenser, you will need to disassemble the dispenser on the front of the freezer in order to completely remove the water hose.
  3. Remove the water drip tray from beneath the ice/water dispenser and locate the screws at the bottom of the cover (if any). Remove screws and pop off the panel that houses the dispenser. If the unit does not have screws, you will need to pry the cover off with a flat-nosed screwdriver.
  4. Once the cover is removed, you should be able to see the screws that hold the dispenser unit in place. Remove these screws and reposition the unit so you can free the water hose, by pulling it through the dispenser.
  5. Thread the new water line through the freezer door and reassemble dispenser unit. Push the new water hose into the fitting on the back panel, making sure it is properly seated. Turn on water supply and check for any leaks before moving the refrigerator unit back against the wall.
Good Luck and thanks for using fixya.

Kenmore coldspot 10656936600 freezer sizzling

A hissing or a sizzling or a buzzing sound or arching noise could be heard on self-defrosting models. This is made by when the water drips on the defrost heaters. On new refrigerators it is not unusual for the door to whistle or squeak. This happens because the gasket rubber material around inner perimeter of the door is sealing really tightly.

Kenmore Coldspot Model 51572200 is leaking water all over the floor

On the bottom rear of the refrigerator as you are looking at it from behind the left side where the water is feeding into there should be a double valve. 1 is for the water and the other to the icemaker. Many times that valve won't shut off, however the switch that dispenses the water is evidentially bad and needs to be checked if it is stuck open.

Hi, I have a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator model #596.76253702 that leaks water from the bottom every time the ice maker refills. The problem keeps getting worse since I purchased this product 2 years ago.

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.
If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Ice maker water not stopping
The water inlet valve may be staying open. You can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it. If it does stop after trying it several times then the problem is with the ice maker.

We have Kenmore/Coldspot side by side model 106.44259401 Over the last few days the freezer has 'blizzard' conditons. Frost accumulating on top /sides/packages. Also appears the refridgerator side...

Sounds to me like your defrost heating element is shot. Unplug the refrigerator. Empty out the freezer take the screws off the back panel and remove panel. Defrost the cooling coils with a hair dryer. At the bottom behind the shield you will see a glass tube. Unplug it and bring it to your local app repair shop and let them match it up because making the phone call with your make and model doesnt always work but bring those numbers with you as well. There was some models made with single heating elements that had to work twice as hard to get the defrost job done so they burned out more often. Your repair store will probably have a new dual tube for ya. Hope this helps. Almost forgot..Make a temporary plug with a paper towel and stick it in the water drain just in case you drop a panel screw down the drain(not fun) good luck!

Water drips from the freezer into the fridge.Upon disassemble, there is ice buildup under the coils. kenmore coldspot model #71184101

The defrost timer or the defrost heater element has probably failed. Go to the link below and enter your exact model number; you should find a line-drawing illustration and parts list for your fridge that you can use to locate these items and normally also determine how to remove or install them:
