Go that manufactured web page and download the newest software for your printer. Also contact apple and explain the issue. I might be that printer is not compatibly with mini mac operating system.

I hope that helps. Also how are connecting the printer to your mini mac are you connecting it though usb or though the computer network? Thats another factor to think about.

I get a message that my HP 5500 is not connected to my new iMac but the printer says it is connected. How to solve?
The printer says that it is connected correctly to the router because the router is aware of it and has assigned to it an IP address on the network.
The computer on the other hand does not know that there is a printer. Not finding one (or not knowing where to look for it) the computer reports that the printer is offline.

Is the Pixma connected to a wireless router (or connected by USB or ethernet cable)? It could be that the router connection failed. Try restarting the router, or repeat wireless connection on the Pixma.

I had this problem once too, after I installed the latest drivers It worked.

The CD you are installing it from might have outdated drivers on it, so these should fix the problem.
