On that model I believe you need an original Sony projection remote or one of the "magic tv remotes" that support the convergence function.

First if the auto convergence isnt working you need new Ics . two of them.I am part owner of a site that sells the ICs and provide free tech support by way of online instant messaging and we include detailed instructions on how to do the repair yourself. We also have a service where you can send your board to us and we will install new ICs and all new Convergence resistors and ship the board back to you. Or we sell remanufactured boards. I would recomend replacing the two ICs as that would be the cheapest rout the ICs arent exspensive , but will require de-soldering and soldering in the new ones. Here is alink to the site. You can go and send them a request for information by clicking on the contact us link in the lower left info box. Someone will get back with you quickly just leave your model number and what you would like info on.

Your set uses two STK392-560 convergence ICs they are attached to a large heat sink on the D board. You can save your self about 400 for a twenty minute repair by getting new ICs at the following link as trhey provide free instalation instructions with pics so you can do the job yourself. It only requires basic soldering skills I would order about six 4.7ohm 1/2 watt resistors as well just in case you need them asusually sonys' will burn one or two of the 4.7ohm convergence resistors when the ICs fail. Heres the link

You will need two STK392-560 Convergence ICs and you will also need two of the 3.5 amp pico fuses as Sonys will always blow at least two of the Pico fuses. You can get replacement ICs and Pico fuses at the fiollowing link and they provide free instalation instructions. Heres the link.

SOURCE: sony kp 51ws510 convergence problem

Your TV most likely has one or more possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Picture of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

Sony kp-53xbr45 please let me know step by step how to enter convergence service thank you

Hello,

To enter into the convergence service of your sony, follow the steps below;
  1. Press "Menu" on the remote control. Use the up- or down-arrow button to move the cursor to "Setup" and then press "Return."
  2. Use the up or down arrow to move the cursor to "Convergence" and press "Return." This will bring up the convergence-adjustment screen.
  3. Press the up or down arrow to move the cursor to the line you want to adjust (either vertical or horizontal for red and blue) and press "Return."
  4. Press the up or down arrow again to move that line until it converges with the center green line and press "Return."
  5. Repeat to adjust the other lines until all three lines converge and are seen as a white cross.
  6. Press "Menu" to exit the convergence menu and return to the original screen.
You can as well follow these steps;
  1. Press the "Power" button to turn your TV on.
  2. Wait at least 30 minutes before you adjust the convergence in your television. This allows your TV ample time to warm up before you make the adjustment.
  3. Turn your TV to a cable channel or to an antenna channel with a picture that you can see. A music channel with a static shot of music notes isn't the kind of picture you need. Instead, look for a picture like what you would see on a movie, sitcom or drama.
  4. Press the "Flash Focus" button located in the front panel on your TV. You may need to open a hidden compartment on the front of your TV to access this button. The convergence will repair itself automatically after you hit this button. It may take several minutes.
Any of the two processes are detailed steps on how to enter your convergence service.

Take care

Need the code for the remote for a sony kp-51ws510

You need a Sony original remote--even a Sony universal will not access the menu.

With the Sony remote (Almost any Sony projection remote will work) you can adjust in the customer mode or enter the TECH menu for fine adjustment all over the screen.

If you get one and do not know how to enter the TECH menu--let me know and I will tell you how to do it and adjust there.

If this has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.
