This antique mallets LTD home freezer suddenly stopped freezing , motor runs neon indicator lights up I've turned the thermostat to No 7 , I'm wondering if I've overloaded it , how do I repair or re-s

first thing to go on freezers is the thermostat i'd check that out first its attached to the big variable knob next to orange light

Normally a fast freeze button is just that, it turns the compressor on permanently to freeze things down quickly.
I suspect that your run light is linked to the thermostat, and does not indicate that the freezer is turned off but that the temperature of the freezer is above the temperature set on the thermostat and the compressor is running to bring the temperature down. Once the temperature is at or below the thermostat temperature then the compressor will stop and the red light probably goes out, indicating the the freezer is at the right temperature.
It won't go out with the fast freeze on because to freeze food quickly the thermostat is by-passed and the compressor runs continuously.

Your thermostat is faulty. Run it in fast freeze mode until you can get it replaced

I would contact the manufacturer first. Home Depot is usually no help.

i think this is thermostat setting problem please make sure freezer,s thermostat nobe (nidle) is in correct position .then see thermostat temperature settings . may be thermostat is not controlling to compressor motor that why it,s running continuously.

freezer thermostat needs replacing.

It sounds like the thermostat is not sensing when the fridge/freezer reaches it's set temperature.This will result in the compressor running non-stop and this causes ice build-up inside the fridge.See on what number (0-7) the thermostat is set on.If it is set on 7,turn it down to 3 and see if it makes a difference.If there is no difference it means that the thermostat is not sensing & switching the compressor off.You will then have to replace the thermostat.
