I had same problem. Take all batteries out of both units. Put the batteries in the remote sensor FIRST. Then put batteries in the main unit. Within five minutes, they will link up. Problem solved!

SOURCE: outside temp does not read new batterys in both

Double check the batteries to make sure they are installed correctly. If one of the batteries in the outdoor sending unit is in backwards, it will not send the outdoor data. On the indoor unit, there is typically one battery that is used for receiving the signal from the outdoor unit. If all of the batteries are in correctly but that one, you will see the display and the indoor temperature information, but the outdoor information will not be displayed.

SOURCE: I have an Acurite 822-RX thermometer that shows HH

HH means it is showing the high temperature you (most likely accidentally) set with the MAX MIN / + button, which is easy to do when setting the clock. Just press that button again until the reading appears.

AcuRite Professional Weather Center 01602BPDI. It eats the outside batteries. Batteries last about 2-3 months till low battery power shows inside with -40 degrees plus other false readings.

My National Geographic Weather Station is the opposite. The outside sensor only indicates the temperature, but the single CR2023 battery lasts a year. The inside unit on my desk lasts around 5 - 6 months and lets me know if needs a battery by showing the outside temperature as ' -- '

Although the manual says 'rechargeable batteries are not recommended', I would try 4 Sanyo Eneloop batteries. Or you could contact Acurite Support and ask them if your battery use is excessive?

My outside temperture display runs about 10 degrees hotter than the actual outside temperture. can this be adjusted?

im not sure if this can be abjusted or not but i can tell you why its saying its hotter that in realy is.. its because its telling you the temp under the hood. its recording the heat from the engen.....so this adds a few degrees to the actual outside air temp.... i hope this helps you

My 2007 Chevy HHR 2.2L, coolant temp sensor is reading that the coolant temp is 20 degrees warmer than the outside temp after sitting for over 12 hours and the operating temp gets to 214 degrees without...

Sure the engine coolant will be warmer than the outside temperture and if the car has been sitting a long time in cold weather and the outside temperture warms up it could be the other way around. The coolant temperture sensers aren't real accurate as they are a relaitive senser beween hot and cold and the numbers reported don't have to be real just the change from hot to cold and the reching of the coolant to the operating temperture. Noe it the senser doesn't read the opertating temperture coprrectly you'll have all kinds of problems. The therostaste will try to set the temperture of the water to it's set temperture and can open or close completly to get 195 degrees F. Many times if it's too cold then the stat is bad and needs to be replaced This shows up in alot of cars first thing after winter and the first onset of cold weather when the daily tempertures vary the most from day to night.

What does hh.h mean on display

I'm assuming it just stands for "High Humidity". It wasn't raining at the time, but it sure had been earlier, so perhaps if it's over some number (like 90%), it just says "HH".

Humidity factor up to 92 degrees ,although it keeps the temperature down to 69 degrees

HMMM, I am not quite sure exactly what your setup is. My first question is how are you reading humidity and is it accurate. Second if you are maintain 69 degrees, is it hot and humid outside? If your unit is low on charge, the evaporator (indoor) coil will maintain a warmer temp reducing its ability to reduce humidity but if it is hot outside, you would not be keeping at 69 degrees. If this is a new system my best guess is that the system is over sized. I know a lot of people want a big AC unit to cool down quick but if the unit comes on, runs for 2 minutes and shuts off, It is not running long enough to remove any humidity from the air, thus proper sizing is extremely important. Let me know exactly what your situation is and lets see if we can get it fixed.
