SOURCE: adding bluetooth to toshiba laptop

Well,I'm not really an expert on Bluetooth, but let me try...

Which version of Windows are you running? If you have Windows XP SP2 or above, the Microsoft Bluetooth stack should be installed on your system. First make sure that the Kensington bluetooth adapter is compatible with the printer and the OS. From what I heard Canon sell a separate Bluetooth adapter for about $80 for this, but I'm not too sure.

Secondly, ensure that the built-in Bluetooth Stack or Software has the required Profile for your printer.

Next, put your printer in "discover" mode (see printer manual for more info ). Use the Bluetooth Connection Utility software that came with the built-in Bluetooth stack to "discover" the printer. Follow the instructions by the Bluetooth stack manufacturer on how to pair and connect Bluetooth devices to your built-in Bluetooth stack.

Please also see THIS article. although it is meant for the Logitech DeNovo keyboard, it can be used for any Bluetooth enabled devices. (Just replace the DeNovo wit your printer in the article.

But mainly, make sure that the Kensington adapter is compatible...

Hope that helps..

I know this is over a year, but have you tried checking the bios setting? It may be that the bios has an option to disable the integrated wlan.

It would help if your supplied the Asus Model and the OS you are using. Is your Wireless adapter enabled in the Device Manager? Are ALL the Windows and Asus updates current? What does the software indicate when you try to connect? In the Tray Notification Area , open the network icon, in Network and Sharing Center, what does it say? If you click on Connect or Disconnect and select your Wireless Network what happens?

I can't get my Asus netbook to connect to my wireless router . It is on the list but it can't seem to find the connection. ran the diagnostic program but no luck. Help

Try this, it may work for you.

Windows WiFi Fix,

Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.

Windows XP:

Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Thinkpad x40 cannot see the wireless adapter

Try booting to safe mode, remove any connection setups in the network connections control panel. and then remove the adapter from the device manager.

Reboot your system, then try adding hardware and setup your wireless connection.

If that doesn't work, test the adapter on another computer, and/or test another adapter with your system. (Your adapter might need a burial)
