With what I understand, you can connect motorola phone tools to your motorola mobile phone using either, a usb cable or bluetooth.   I was able to connect the phone and use all its feature with a usb cable.

now, for several times i have tried connecting using the bluetooth with no success.  i have a separate bluetooth dongle for my laptop...

does anyone knows how to connect using the bluetooth?

by the way, im using the motorola v9 mobile phone

thanks

In the phone itself, you have to search for bluetooth devices and accept the found device in order for it to work, once set-up searching is not needed for that device again

How to connect this phone to pc and connect to internet

It depends on the phone: Motorola phones generally can use a software tool (Motorola Phone Tools) or can directly connect via USB or Bluetooth. The iPhone requires jailbreaking, and can connect via an application over wifi, Bluetooth, or the usb-based cable. I am not as familiar with HTC or Blackberry phones, however I have heard the android phones may require an application or natively support, blackberry uses bluetooth or usb... Then there are the Verizon phones which can act as a mobile WiFi hotspot. It all depends.

How do i download songs on to my motorola razr v3m

there are mainly 2 ways to download/transfersongs to your Moto V3 - USB cable & Bluetooth
(though you can also download from internet at the cost of airtime).

USB Cable:
- download and install this usb driver - http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/Common/Drivers%20and%20Plug%20ins/USB_Driver_32.zip
- connect the Motorola to the computer through USB cable.
Now you can copy/transfer songs from your computer.

Bluetooth:
Using Bluetooth you can transfer songs from any other Bluetooth device(other Mobile or computer which has Bluetooth)
- Switch On your V3's Bluetooth. Press Menu -> Setting & Tools -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> Setup -> Power -On

- Make your V3 visible to other device. Press Menu -> Setting & Tools -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> Setup -> Find Me

- Now from any other mobile(having Bluetooth), select any song, go to its options, select either Send/Copy which has option To Bluetooth (it'll prompt to switch On the Bluetooth, answer yes)

- click on Search for Device. this will find your V3 in few seconds.

- after this it may ask to set a password, set a 4 digit password, say 1111

- now your V3 will also ask to confirm the password, keyin 1111

- You can see the progress of your song transfer.
(for next song you'll only have to say Ok on V3, password etc. step only one time)

Can I use a wireless router with motorola phone tools. What I want to do is to connect phone tools on a desktop and then add a wireless router (USB) so I can get wireless internet on my laptop.

Your question is somewhat confusing.

For clarification, there are two questions that you could be asking.

The first question would be: Can your phone be 'Tethered' to your laptop with either a Data Cable or Bluetooth to have internet on your laptop by using your phone as a modem? (No wireless router is needed to do this.)

The second question would be, that you have an internet connection on your desktop computer and want to use a wireless router to have internet on your laptop via WiFi. (In this case, your cell phone would not be needed.)

If the first question is what you are asking, to use your cell phone as a modem to provide internet access to your laptop - then the answer is, Yes. This is what you will need:

1) You'll need a Data Plan added to your regular cell phone service account.

2) To tether your laptop to your phone, your laptop will need to have either Bluetooth installed or you will need a USB Data cable.

Tip: If your laptop does not have Bluetooth installed, you can purchase any USB Bluetooth Doggle (on eBay for a couple of dollars) and plug it into one of the USB ports on your computer. Once plugged in, the doggle will automatically download the Bluetooth drivers to your laptop. Otherwise, you can use a USB Data cable to tether your phone to your laptop.

Note: Depending on the model number of your Motorola phone you may have to download the Data Cable Drivers onto your laptop.

If your phone is not one of the following phones then you can use Motorola Phone Tools. (Motorola OS, Motorola Linux OS, Motorola iDEN, Motorola Symbian/UIQ, Motorola Windows Mobile and Motorola i-mode Handsets. )

If you need the Motorola Phone tools (if your Motorola Phone Model was NOT one of the models I listed above)
Just click here::
http://bit.ly/1TN7A6

If your phone model is a (Motorola OS, Motorola Linux OS, Motorola iDEN, Motorola Symbian/UIQ, Motorola Windows Mobile or Motorola i-mode Handsets), you'll need to download the drivers for the Data Cable and install them on your laptop.
Since you did not include which cellular provider you use, I cannot provide you with the information to manually set up your cellular internet connection.

Now, if the second question is the one you are asking, that you have internet on your desktop and want to use a wireless router to get internet on your laptop, here's what you'll need:

1) Connect a wireless router to your desktop.
2) Your laptop should have a small WiFi switch or button on the front or side of your laptop. This will need to be turned 'ON". (See your owners manual for your laptop to do this.)

If your laptop has WiFi installed, on your laptop go to START > (Look on the right side of the menu box and click on: 'Connect to' -- If you don't see, 'Connect to' in the menu you'll have to purchase a USB WiFi adapter. A good one is a D-Link DWL-G132 and can be purchased on eBay for about $10. Install the drivers for it first before plugging it in to your computer.
Click here to download the DWL-G132 drivers:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwlg132/Driver/dwlG132_drivers_130.zip

Once you download the drivers and plug in the DWL-G132 into one of your laptop's USB ports then click, START > Connect to > and select your wireless router.

I would like to get soft ware for my motorolla v3 such that i can connect it on computer

Motorola and the variouscarriers have even gone as far as disabling the Bluetooth OBEX filetransfer service so you are left with a very crippled Bluetooth. Thereason for this is that Motorola wants you to spend more money on acouple of options that they have:
  1. Spend close to$59.95 for their “Motorola Phone Tools” software to charge your phone, transfer pictures, ring tones, sync with your Microsoft Outlook, songs, and other tasks. Update: You can get Motorola Phone Tools now through Amazon for less than $5!
  2. Spend money to transfer these files wirelessly, to increase your monthly usage.
so to connect your motorola phone to computer you need to buy phone tools where you should be able to get from your mobile operator. and thats how you would be able to connect your motorola phone to computer. hope this help.
