Hi i have a trojan on my acer 5315 laptop how do i restore it to factory settings thanks

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. Here is the standard Acer Recovery Instructions

1. Power on the machine
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the Alt key and press the F10 key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click Restore to Factory Default Settings
4. Click OK to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press OK to reboot unit

If this wont work you need to use the recovery cd of your system. Take note that if you do the reocvery process all files will be deleted and the system will go back to default or factory state.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Acer aspire 5315 VERY slow and types over words.Freezes up.

Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so
Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,

I want to reset it

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

Restore to factory settings

all HP made computers (acer is owned by HP) dont come with backup disks anymore, they require you to make them when you first get the computer, so if you made your restore disksyou should be able to pop them in and boot off of them and it should restore to factory settings, if you didnt make the disks the closest thing you could do is reinstall windows completely.

Acer 5315 laptop ''eRecovery'' issue

That is because the D drive was the recovery partition, you cannot make another, instead of giving the os disk to the consumer they put it on the Drive. Now that is gone.Call Tiger and ask them if they can help you. They will need to reinstall the operating system, unless you have another disk. You can try going into the cotrol panel and removing the Acer prprietary software that is causing the problem, but be careful what you take out, there are several programs like vista manager that we could have recommended to remove nd optomise your system, but I fear it's too late for that now,If you can get into safe mode on bootup, you may be able to restore the os.

How do i restore my lasptop to the factory settings

To restore your acer to its factory installation status (formats C: and removes all data) press ALT and F10 repeatedly on first boot. This should take you to the acer restore program which is partioned onto the hard drive.
Alternatively use the acer e recovery program to create a set of boot disks which will allow the same operation.
