The low battery alarm on our Kenmore freezer #253.23082100 keeps going off every 6 days, so we keep replacing the 9 volt battery. Only other symptom is small amount of icy build-up on the floor of the interior.

An alarm triggered by a clogged water inlet or faulty defrost element could be reset with a new 9 volt battery? This unit doesn't have a drain tube, more of a gutter that looks to catch moisture from the back wall. FYI, I did replace the electronic control board, located behind the alarm panel at the top of the door. Also, someone mentioned the electric board. Thoughts?
I do have a mechanical background and would be interested in trying to check the defrost element and/or evaporator tray. Suggestions?
how to replace the 9 volt battery for alarm
