Your laptop has Tv Tuner card and if it takes TV input via cable , you get a S-Video / DVD cable to regular cable converter and use the laptop as a video recorder - if you are in US , any Radio Shack will be able to help you with the cables

Hi,

The cam setup you're trying in your surgery is similar to the type I often setup in Dental operatories for there intra-oral cameras.

You need an tuner, if your external has S-Video port, you can simply plug into it and use windows media center or the cards software(if it came seperate) to record from the s-video feed.

Then you can hook the S-Video output from the laptop to the TV monitor in question and run the laptop in mirrored mode to show the same image on both screens.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Is a 6 cm hiatal hernia large?

It sounds big, doesn't it?
Treatment of Esophageal Hernis depends more on the symptoms it might be causing. Some people may have very large EH, but if they have no symptoms, no one would look, so maybe there are all sizes of EH that we don't know about.
The usual reason people come to the doctor is symptoms and so they are treated conservatively - meaning "keep it simple". If that treatment doesn't work, then it's time for something more aggressive - up to and including surgery.
I have been told by surgeons, that a surgical repair often fails, so they are willing to try lots of other options first. New techniques are being developed all the time including laparoscopic surgery (small slit in the skin and a "scope" put in to repair it), and robotic surgery with some better outcomes. If your symptoms are bbaaaaad then it doesn't matter how small it might be, if your symtoms are easily relieved with diet change, or a pill for a few days until it's better, it doesn't matter how BBBIIIIGG it is.

This is the Mayo Clinic website. I like to use it because it has very complete, easy to understand information on many different diseases and conditions, including a section on what to ask your doctor during your first appointment.
Other sites to look at are Cleveland Clinic, and the National Institute of Health (NIH, nih.gov). As opposed to some hospital sponsered sites, these will have no commercial or marketing stuff added on, and they will discuss all types of treatments, and not just the one that the Hospital wants you to have so they can pay off the huge expense of some robotic technical wonder that might be no better than a bottle of Tums.
