Recently changed heating element. When put back together their was a squealing, which would come and go. When I tried to start the last time there appeared to be a momentary grinding sound the squeal and then stopped working. When I try to restart there is a lound hum when start button depressed, but wont come on. thoughts?

A little lubricant on the pulleys near the belts will go along way. Its vereasy to access these parts front the back of the machine with a 1/4 hex head screwdriver.

Kenmore 80's series electric dryer no heat...drum

Check your breaker by turning it off and back on. Then check wiring at plug and back of dryer. You could have a bad relay switch. You can find it under the top and put the 2wires together and try it then . If it works, you know that it is the relay switch. Last but not least, it may be your element. Check it visually to see if there is a break in it or a weak spot.

I have a kenmore 90 series dryer and the dryer works but does not heat. I have already checked the heating element, replaced the thermal fuses and thermostat, and am currently at a loss. I checked the...

L1 connects to the heating element through the timer, a thermal cutoff, the operating thermostat, and the hi-limit thermostat. The heating element then connects to L2 through the motor centrifugal switch.also check the block where the cord connects to the dryer and make sure you have correct voltage there,if you have 120 going to motor you could have a bad motor if it's not going to heater, just do what you're doing, read it out with your meter, inspect the wires too,one could have melted, make sure when you read the parts out that you pull one of the wires off,you can get a back feed and it will show continuity,if i can help with anything else let me know

Change the heating element on a Kenmore 90 series dryer, no heat, could the problem be the thermal fuse

yes,i would check with a set of meters to see if it has continuity.it is located at top of element cage.or a tip you can check it by taking the 2 wires from the thermal fuse and pu them together with electrical tape plug the dryer in and see if it heats.

Kenmore dryer replaced heting element now it does not blow any air

HI danon this dryer its common to have the blower wear out, it slides on the motor shaft, and what they do is wear out the flat in the blower. that could have caused the element to fail. check the blower thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer. thanks

Kenmore dryer 90 series model 66901692

heating element is located at the back of the dryer. if you can see a big coil of wires like a long spring laid back and fort to a duct , that is the heating element.
