Olympus mem card will not copy pictures onto computer,PLEASE HELP
I have an Olympus 2G Memory Card (used in an Olympus FE-310 camera), but when I have tried to copy pictures to computer, it tells me card needs to be formatted. I have tried putting card back into the same camera, but it comes up with a 'set-up' screen asking me to re-format card or clean card.
I have tried cleaning the card, but without success. I have used this card before and it has worked fine.
Is there any way at all to get pictures off this card without losing them.
Please help me....
The same thing happened to me. The camera did not give me the option to format the first time I used the camera. Now I can't get photos to save on my camera at all. I don't know if it's the camera or the XD Card. I ended up formatting when I tried to upload my photos and lost the photos. I spoke to LEXAR( the maker of the XD CARD). www.lexar.com/software
There is a recovery software for 28.95 that you can download if you loose your photos too. I have not tried it yet, but I was told that it works 90% of the time.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto, Windows Photo Gallery, and Picasa.

Select "Backup" from the Setup menu to copy pictures from the internal memory to a memory card. Then you can transfer them from the memory card to your computer as usual.
