SOURCE: SUBWOOFER NOT WORKING?

if you have real old wires from the amp to the sub try getting new wires on it. check the little wires that go to the cone itself on the sub. sometimes they can manage to get pulled out of their terminals and make sure that thier touching the terminals on the correct spot

SOURCE: JBL Eon 15 Blown Fuse

These fuses are most likely 3 Amp fuses. Please note that if the replacements blow as well, that there is a problem within the amp section that will require repair.

SOURCE: fuse blows

Both 3 or 4 amp slow blow fuses are suitable replacements for the 3.125 amp subwoofer fuse.

It could be that the subwoofer is blowing the fuse because the one you installed was not slow blow.

But, more likely is the subwoofer has a short in the power supply which is causing the fuse to blow.

  • Yea, you blew the voice coil. Pressing on the cone where you are is hitting the spot that is making the coil connect again. Just like a shorted wire. Sometimes you can bend it and get a connection. You are gonna have to replace the sub.

Toyota Corolla 1997 I've installed kickers in the rear (KS series to match the front)... had those going for a couple of weeks with no problems. Yesterday i went to install the KS400 series in the...

take one of the front speakers out and pull out the head unit and unplug a set of audio wires(front right, front left ect.) and hook it up directly from the radio to the speaker there for bypassing all the cars wires. If it works then there's a problem with the car's wiring(maybe an inline amp). If it doesn't work, then try a known good speaker from somewhere else(home stereo speaker for example) and connect it to the radio, if the speaker works, your radio is fine and there may be a problem with the speakers. If it doesn't work then you have a problem with the head unit.

My kicker solo x 10 dual 2 omh dont work

Try to check speaker fuse (could be low impedance resistor) inside the unit. But the most possibility is the Power Transistors are defected.

I have two kicker 10s cvr and the wires came off from the inside, from speaker to the connecter? are they worth fixen there not blown just wires came off. There 10 months old

They are soldered on at the factory. There are times that the soldering job isn't done perfectly. If you do end up re-soldering them there may be an insulation covering the leads that will need to be burned off the lead. The insulation is the discoloration on the lead. When you do this, hold onto the lead with a weak pair of needle nose pliers to reduce a potential failure later.

I was on my way home from work today playing my Kicker CVR Sub, then all of a sudden the bass abruptly shut off. I have no idea what the problem may be, as the wires all are securely fastened and my amp...

Hello esoblivion,

A low voltage condition could cause the amp to automatically shut down. It should reset when the voltage is normal again. If it doesn't, it's possible that the amp outputs were damaged during the jumpstart.

It's usually best to remove the primary fuse when connecting jumper cables. There's almost always a surge and possibly a back EMF when the starter solenoid energizes. If your amp is connected directly to battery positive (normal connection), it will not be disconnected by the starter relay.

Hope this helps.

I wonder if i get two kicker cvx 10 can be push by jl audio 500.1

It can but it'd be a waste for your subs. 1 of those by itself will handle that amp. it'll push them just not really hard, i'd recommend an upgrade to a 1100-1200 watt rms amp if you're gonna run 2 cvx's. if you only run one sub that amp'll work well...

Cerwin Vega V-10S Subwoofer doesn´t sounds good

dear "rai17"

This, to me, is most likely the voice coil inside the driver rubbung against the yolk plate, or possibly the spyder slapping the metal plate underneath it, or the amp-(if it has one?) getting tired. this can occur from poor build quality, or playing the subwoofer too loud. depending on how much it cost you, you may want to get it repaired(voice coil re-alignment or something or new amp). But the way it seems, it is probably the driver itself. subwoofers get looser as they break in. This one may have been over-broken....sorry

I hope this helped clarify what is happening!
