How to replace fuel lines on ryobi rlt30ces line trimmer

The fuel lines were perished and my son pulled the pieces of fuel line out of the fuel tank and then purchased new fuel line and replaced the two fuel lines but was not sure how they were to be replaced and put both back and down to the bottom of the fuel tank. the engine now starts with difficulty and only runs for about 5 - 10 mins before cutting out and then will not start easily again. what has been done wrong and which is the correct way to replace the fuel lines?

SOURCE: replacing fuel lines on ryobi 767r trimmer

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter of the two fuel lines, goes from the carburetor to the bottom of the tank. Leave enough slack in this line so that the filter that attaches to the end will rest comfortably at the bottom of the tank.

The other fuel line goes from the primer bulb to just inside the tank, (about an inch). make sure that you get the right size fuel lines. The plastic coupling goes on the end of this line, inside the tank. This keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

(HINT): When feeding the lines through the tank holes, cut the lines at an angle. They will feed much easier into the holes. You can than cut them off square, once you know that you have enough to work with.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

I have one of these and I have to admit they are a bit of a bug*er to start. Following the instructions though on the sheet for trying to start it eventually should kick it off and then you should be away. I start mine by alternating between no choke and the half choke with about half a dozen pulls each. generally pull with the throttle held but try a few with it off every now and again. If you get to 10 mins without success, put it down, have a drink and a rest and go back in 30 mins and try again.
I wouldnt have thought a straight petrol mix would do it any harm though, if you had over mixed with oil then that could have been a differnt story.

The carburator needs to be adjusted a little, thin our your mixture screw when the trimmer is warmed up and idling. Well how do you get it to idle? I usually have to play with the choke lever with the throttle wide open going from choke to partial choke as needed to keep it running. Adjusting can be tricky, you need a small screwdriver. Screw all the way in then back out 3 to 3.5 turns. this should get you close. Adjust idle as needed.

My Husqvarna 24C fuel pipe in the fuel tank has perished and broken can I replace it and if so how?

Fuel lines are a push/pull fit, the fuel line has 2 flanges, one should sit either side of the fuel tank. I will send you a link to the parts manual.

Gas line replacement for ryobi trimmer

Noticed on my last trip to Home Depot, that they had replacement fuel line kits for Ryobi trimmers with instructions on how to do it.....if you don't have a Home Depot handy, take your machine to any mower shop or mower parts house and they have bulk tubing you can buy...match the size of the line and get about 14in of line...next remove the fuel cap and dump any fuel in the tank...look inside and find the tube with the small filter attached to the end....remove the fuel line from the fitting on the carburetor and with a twisting motion push the fuel line into the tank from the outside...when you get enough slack in the line grasp the filter end of the line with long needle nosed pliers or a hemostat through the tank fill hole and gently pull on the line...it should slide right out....now take your new line and with a razor blade or sharp knife cut about a 1inch angled taper on the end of the new line...put a little oil on the new line and feed the tapered end from the outside of the tank through the hole in the tank, pushing and turning it a little as you insert it. as with the removal procedure when you get enough line inside the tank grasp with your pliers and pull the line through....cut off the tapered end and re install the fuel filter ( now would be a good time to replace it with a new one, they're cheap and prevent problems down the road)... pull the fuel line back toward the carburetor until the filter lies on the bottom of the tank... about 7in inside the tank and 5 in on the outside is about right take the carburetor end of the line and cut it to fit making sure you don't have any sharp bends in the line and re- attach it to the carb fitting.... that should do it...you can replace the fuel return line the same way !!! hope this helps.... ;-D

Replacing fuel line on ryobi 775r trimmer. when i removed old line and filter, the plastic fitting with the filter protruded about 1/4'' out of tank and was held by plastic retainer ring, now i can get the...

First off, get a piece of fuel line longer than you need for the job. With the gas tank removed, wrapped in a towel and put in a vice to steady it I fed the gas line in from the outside of the tank to through the fuel hole (where the gas cap fits on). I carefully worked the fuel line onto the filter until it was all the way on (touching the bottom of the filter assembly). I then gently pulled on the line feeding it through the hole. Then with gentle pulling, twisting and nudging from inside and outside the tank I worked the fuel filter nipple through the hole on the bottom of the tank until it was flush and secure.. Once the filter and fuel line were secure in the hole on the bottom of the tank, I then worked the secure ring up the fuel line and worked it onto the filter stem until it was snug. I then fed the line through the appropiate holes in the engine, trimmed it to size and fitted it on the nipple on the engine.

I need to know how the fuel lines are hooked up in my ryobi gas trimmer. All of the fuel lines rotted out. I took them out and I need to know the correct connection sequences (what goes where).

line runs from little filter in tank to carb.
line from carb. to primer bulb
line from primre bulb back to gas tank.
lines are 2 sizes
need to cut at angle end of lines in tank so you can get them thru holes
and grab with needle nose plyers and pull them thru.
make sure you put the little filter on end before you pull line thru and leave
enough so filter can move around the whole tank.
second line in tank is smaller and need to cut and pull it thru hole in tank to primer bulb

Ryobi rlt30ces trimmer

Hi there, takes a bit of working out without a manual, but try this....take bottom half of trimmer line spool off, get piece of spool line approx 60 cm, long and thread through centre holes, ( bit fiddly but ) pull line through until you have equal length on both sides, dont try and wind it up onto the spool, just put ends of line through outside cover holes, then lock spool in place in other half. now simply wind the knob at the end and the line should retract into the spool., sounds complicated but really isnt, best regards and good luck, Philbee
