My Belkin N1 Vision router is shutting down (loosing all the power) merely during night. Then I have to plug out and plug in the power cord to switch it on again. Is there any soul to help me out of this? Will be grateful for your kind suggestions. Model: F5D8232-4, ver: 1044yy. Thanks, Karol
Is the Belkin plugged into a power strip or UPS? Try another AC outlet. Has the AC jack, plug in the rear or the Belkin been damaged due to pulling on the AC cord, causing a lose connection? Is your computer shut down at night? No Hibernate, No Sleep? Are their setting for the Belkin to shut down/timeout after a certain idle time? Here's a user manual: http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/f5d8632-4_usermanual.pdf

You can uplink a fairly good number of PCs or laptops with Belkin N1 as it supports high bandwidth. Keep in mind that upon adding every new PC, the overall bandwidth for the other PCs is reduced. If the PCs/ laptops do not require much bandwidth, you can connect / add more PCs to the network.
Generally, I have uplinked upto 10-15 clients to one router and the network worked just fine. It all depends upon the network environment and the bandwidth usage by each client PC. If the PCs are using just email and simple internet browsing (and remain idle for most of the time), you can add more clients to your network as not all the systems consume network resources at the same time.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Ascertain what incoming ports you need to open and the IP address of the device / computer that you wish to forward to and set the ports up manually.
· Enter a description for the service
· Enter the inbound port ranges from WAN
· Enter TCP/ UDP type
· Enter IP address that the service is to be forwarded
· Enter the private port range (keep these the same as the incoming ports unless you are running multiple services ie 2 web servers on port 80)
· Click enable check box and save entry
· Repeat as required.

Check the routers gateway IP address is in the same subnet as the other computers or laptop.
Ie 192.168.1.X . (X is between 1 and 254)
In addition, the sub net mask is 255.255.255.0
If all is ok then it is probably a miss configuration with WPA /WEP options
SOURCE: how to forward website to belkin n1 vision router
Do static IP to the network card in the PC
example 192.168.2.15 you choice from you lan
then from the web PC check you IP
http://whatismyip.com
or from command line netstat -a or ipconfig /all
once you obtain the true ip od your web computer
in port forward you forwared the ip address external obtained from whatismyip.com
this is asuming you using port 80 with apatche webserver/ or widows iis
The lan card in the webserver needs to be static

Yes, all the setting and password, WEP encryption password, etc WILL BE LOST. Well they are not actually lost, they remain on the old router until you delete them or reset the router to the factory default.

I think what you are really looking for is will the setting and passwords transfer automatically(NO)
So you need to write down the old setting and password if you want to keep them and put them into the new router during set-up.
Unless you are going to personally keep the old router, for security, reset it to clear out the passwords. The reset procedures is the same for both routers
Just in case you do not have the new owners manual here is the direct link to Belkins.
