The symptoms you describe are typical of a vac that has a blockage (hence poor suction). It cuts out because it's over-heating. You need to check the hose, the filters and anywhere else where something may have got stuck. Blockages are often caused by things like paper clips, but can be caused by something as apparently harmless as a piece of paper which gets stuck and then debris builds up behind it and causes a log-jam.

How do I get reverse suction with the electrolux epic 6000?

I have no idea just what reverse suction would be or how to get it from ANY vac. If you're looking at getting the blowing air from the vac instead of suction, then simply move the hose from the suction end to the exhaust end.

Electrolux cyclone power 1900w no suction with main attachment

If you've tried several different attachments and they all exhibit the same poor suction problems, you should completely check the parts of the vac that are common to all the parts that have the problem.

Since the motor creates good suction without attachments, I suspect the problem is the hose. Either an obstruction or a crack. Typically, if you block the end of the hose, the pitch of the motor's sound will go up slightly - like it it is spinning faster (it is). You can keep removing parts from the vac intake until the motors sound decreases - and that will indicate the part that has the obstruction. If it is a hose, you should clear the obstruction with a "snake" or other object like a pole.

If the motor sound does not change, then there is likely a split or crack somewhere between the intake of the vac and the device. You'll have to check it carefully - or if possible - connect it to the output of a vac and seal / cover the end. Feel along the length of the hose, etc. for air being blown out. Repair the opening and you should be "good to go"

Good luck!

My vacuum is constantly shutting itself off. When

It sounds like you have a blockage somewhere and the air is not passing over the motor to keep it cool. There is usually a thermostat mounted either on or near the motor. The blockage can be anywhere from the elbow ( the swivel part of your carpet sweeper if you have a canister vac) up thru the hose.If you have a canister vac, use a broom handle to push through the hose to clear the blockage. DO NOT ! use a coat hanger or anything that will cut or tare the hose. There are electrical wires in it that have 120 volts and causes quite a shock !
.
If you have an upright vac, start with the duct hose that comes from the part with the brush up to the hose and on to the main canister of the vac
If this does not work, take your vac to a reputable vac shop for repair. Hope this helps,
Joe
