The Toshiba BIOS password is stored on an EEPROM chip and removing the BIOS battery won't work. There is a hardware hack solution (a dongle) to remove the password.

Buy a 25 pin male D Sub connector and join the following pins together by soldering wires to these pins. Make sure the wires do not short against each other. The pins are numbered on the connector.

1-5-10,
2-11,
3-17,
4-12,
6-16,
7-13,
8-14,
9-15

Plug the dongle into the printer port of your laptop and power up the laptop. Press F2 function key to get into the BIOS and then remove the password. Your laptop should boot up without the password and you can remove the dongle.

When starting the laptop the bios screen shows then the screen goes black but is still on.

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS ( operating system) or a virus in the OS. Also it is possible that the back up( CMOS) has low voltage or the memory card is a suspect. In this case you need to check the voltage and also try and swap a memory card. It can also be due to the fact that the memory card slot is not contacting . Please remove and wipe clean the contact points and reset. trying with a new memory card is the other option before we can suspect the motherboard.

If the Pc boots but tends to work slower and occasionally hanging when a program is being executed then you might have to install the OS once again. Install the OS and then an antivirus before the drivers of the PC is installed.

Bios password

This is a know issue with Toshiba laptops,
  1. Try the passwords listed here.
  2. If that doesn't work, you will need to send your laptop in to Toshiba, they will charge you if you are not under warranty, unfortunately, they do not reveal the master/reset password or procedures to others.

Clearing bios pass word toshiba m105

COONTACT TOSHIBA DIRECTLY AND THEY WILL HELP YOU solve this. You'll have to prove to Toshiba tech support that you legally own the computer before they'll help you. This is done to prevent laptop thieves from being able to access information from the computers they steal.

Hi team, I have toshiba satellite m105-s3084 its clock was not working from a long time, now display is not working,in starting of this problem when I open display flap it works for a few second then dim...

The CMOS battery most likely needs to be replaced. This can be a daunting task even for a pro. The CMOS battery is most likely a CR2032 watch battery that you can pick up at almost any computer repair shop or even a **** store in the battery section... even at a home supply store where they have replacement batteries for garage door openers.

However, getting to the battery, which is mounted on the motherboard can be very difficult to get to and should only be attempted by a professional repair shop.

My advice? It's probably time to just toss this laptop to the recycle guys (you might want to pull out the hard drive first and mount it into an external case if you want to retrieve files from it... or destroy it with a drill if you don't).

To illustrate just how difficult it can be with this model of Toshiba Satellite, I've included a video link. I think you'll get the picture.

I would like to reset the bios password on a Toshiba Satellite M105-S3004

Find your original sales-receipt, and telephone Toshiba,
to show that you have proof-of-ownership.

You cannot "reset" the password -- nor can a thief who has stolen your laptop -- this is for your own protection.

The sound on my satellite m105-s3084 stopped working

Go to device manager, if the sound card has a yellow exclamation point near it, then the driver is at fault. You can simply reinstall the driver or remove the sound card and restart the computer. Windows will discover the sound card and install the driver

Toshiba m105-s3084

Number of Slots:
Slot 1 Slot 2 Normally you will find the 2 slots, one above the other.
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-4200 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory. Although the memory can be installed one module at a time, the best performance comes from using matched pairs of modules. Make sure that both are fully seated prior to powering up the laptop.
