I JUST NEED THE ALL IN ONE CENTRE SOFTWARE FOR WINDOWS 7 64 BIT. all i want it for is to scan, so please HELP mE SOMEONE.....

This could be a printer driver issue. Uninstall the existing Lexmark X1270 printer driver on your computer. Please follow steps below:

1. Go to Start menu.
2. Go to Programs.
3. Go to Lexmark 1200 Series folder.
4. Go to Tools.
5. Click Uninstall.
6. After the uninstall process, reboot pc when prompted.

When your pc turns on, check if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. Go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > click Properties. Take note of the System Type.

I suggest you use the driver from the Lexmark website. There are print drivers (Windows only) available for download in the Lexmark website. There are no drivers for Macintosh operating system. Printer is not compatible with Macintosh operating system. To download the software, just click on this link: http://bit.ly/9Xw7bN . Choose the correct driver compatible with your computer's operating system. Hope this helps.

For the printer to scan you have to have the Lexmark software installed and running. With the software running all you have to do is hit the scan button software can be found here

The only way to setup the printer without the proper drivers would be to use windows add new printer. However windows does not have lexmark x1270 listed. You can dlownload the software from lexmark & install the software / drivers without using the cd.

Yes works with Vista but you will need to use Vista driver not XP

The only way i can get my Lexmark X1270 to scan is to use the Windows Vista "Windows Photo gallery" to scan :

Start > All Programs > Windows photo Gallery > File > Import from Camera or scanner > select the scanner > save scanned file to your computer

This is the only way I have been able to use the scanner on my lexmark X1270,hope it works for you too.Be lucky.
