I have a Xantrex DR3624 Modified Sine Wave inverter, and I would like to buy a Xantrex/Trace T240 transformer to run my Grundfos submersible pump. The pump is a two wire, 'soft-start' model # 5SQ10C-450.
I think the inverter provides enough watts, but apparently there is some opinion that ''some two wire pumps may not work'. Will mine work? Nobody seems to know.
SOME MOTORS HAVE TROUBLE, starting on Modified sine wave power. Grundfos is a high quality unit, you could try an other motor driven load to see how it is handled by your power supply.
If the power of you pump is above that of the inverter you intend to buy it will not work, buy one with at least 200watt difference.NB these pumps might take lots of power so your batteries might run down quickly
Look I been using solar and wind power for the last 20 years and never used public utilitiy, run your inverter to a braker box and connect your pump to it donot forgfet to ground the box and the inverter. that is all what you need...remmber modified sine wave may effect the life of the pump if it is cheep it may be ok or you need to get true Sine wave.
