Where is the Driver for a SataI HardDisk when installing Windows 7, which is attached to a Gigabyte 8KNXP Motherboard? The Gigabyte 8KNXP Driver Download site has a Driver but it's for Windows XP.

According to Gigabyte, you have a Silicon Image 3112/3152 SATA chip on that motherboard. Below is a link to the Silicon Image support page. Here, under the Product support pulldown you will choose either of the two numbers (3112/3152) and scroll down the list and you will find a driver for Windows 7 for 32 and 64 bit 3x12 chips (where the x is any number). They also say to use the newest BASE BIOS and there are tips to update the chip's BIOS. I've never tried this before, but hope you have good luck!

Network cable unplugged

Double-check that you are using the right driver. The driver that Vista chooses might not be correct for your network adapter, even if the chipset matches. Use the driver disk that came with your motherboard, or use your laptop to download the latest drivers for your model motherboard from the Asus website and transfer them to desktop and install them.

I've seen a lot of problems where Microsoft's versions of network drivers don't work. Asus and other OEMs buy generic chipsets and add their own microcode. Microsoft recognizes the silicon but often gets the specific implementation wrong. If you do get this working never try installing any recommended hardware driver updates from Microsoft Updates for your network card.

My on board vga driver doesn't support aero effects for windows 7. i tried to update my driver but it says it was the latest driver. i cant enjoy the beauty of windows 7 without the aero effects.. hope you...

You can get the proper driver utility from SIS.com also known as silicon integrated systems it is "sis uniVGA5 graphics driver" version 5.29. I had the same problem as you have: I went to that site and got the program. "NOTE" if you are running stopzilla, UNINSTALL IT BEFORE proceeding!
