I have been using My cpu with this motherboard asus p5vdc-mx for 7 months, yesterday when i switch on the CPU , it won't boot, only blink on the LED of the monitor, the power lef is light uo on the motherbosrd as well as the processor fan is working. i have tried and tested different power supply. RAM , change IDE connector, change battery and cleared CMOS bios with the use of jumper as per ASUS p5vdc-mx manual direction. all of these failed to boot the CPU.. please help me in this problem.thanks!!
The light is probably the power light which is ok, but from past experience it sounds like the board is dead for one reason or other. Is it still under warranty? If it is take it back to where you got it, with the purchase docket if you have it and talk to them about what you have tested and ask for a replacement. If it is out of warranty, try ebay or use www.staticice.com.au to search for the same motherboard if you want to rebuild the system without having to reload windows.
If you can get anothe power supply try this first, your one could just be crook and wont crank your computer up any more, then go throught the process of removing any your memory sticks one at a time they can leave you dead in the water if they have failed, this is a simple couple of steps first if you can not get a start up. also just check all of the connectors to your hard drives and motherboards, they can come loose if you have moved your computer at all. hope this is a help.

Hi, Alstons, I followed and did what you have suggested to do, disconnected the IDE connectors that is connecting the HDD,DVD rewriter,agp video card, also change the mouse and keyboard, still there is no boot, just a blinking monitor, and there was no beep sound either, there was no greenish froem the LED but just a red LED ligthing, waiting for your advice, thanks.
Hi, have you tried a different mouse and keyboard, then disconnect the sata or ide cables from the motherboard to your hdd, burners and any other things connected. Try booting and see if it works, if ok then look for the faulty item. Have you tried another video card or disconnecting also and using the onboard video, also add in a video card if possible if you didn't have one installed before. If none of the above helps and it is still under warranty, speak to the people you got it from and tell them all that you have and can they suggest anything else, if no, you will need to get it replaced.
