Hi,
Just buy an HDMI to AV converter box. It will converter the HDMI to Composite video. If your TV have Component video input then its better to buy HDMI to Component video cable. component video quality is better than composite. Its have resolution up to 1080i.
Fault with main board. Damaged component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
is there a button or switch on the PS3 that has like HD and Composite setting, im not sure one quick check of the ps3....ok word is while ps3 is off HOLD THE POWER TILL U HEAR LIKE TWO BEEPS AND IT SHOULD GO INTO A SETTING MODE TO ALLOW U TOO CCHANGE IT, hope i was quick enough to help
However. I´m inclined to think that you did change the input on your TV. So your problem is another, this is what you have to to to reset:
1. Unplug the HDMI cable from both the TV and PS3. 2. Plug in the AV MULTI OUT cable (the red, white, yellow one provided along with the system) to both your PS3 and TV. 3. Set the TV input to the correct one and turn it on. 4. turn on the PS3 with the front button but DON´T release it, keep your finger on it, until you hear a second beep, thats when you release the button, the PS3 will start to identify what it´s connected to and will display it on your TV.
Do you have your ps3 connected to the TV with HDMI and then audo cables from the TV to the receiver? If so, you need to make sure you change the audio settings on your TV to surround sound.
