Upon first use, you have to charge the battery overnight. Then for every recharge, you may have to keep it connected to the charger for at least 4 to 6 hours depending on your tablet, otherwise, your battery will go kaputt in a short period of time.
i have the same problem. Couple days ago i changed the battery from another sansa clip ant it worked fine, pc recognized sansa again :/ i think that the battery is dead , detailier the microchip wich is on the battery..
You should have kept on using it at random. Keeping it away could always make the electronics age in time. Kindly try to put the sansa on charge for more hours, keep it on for some time extra. if there is no memory on the device and since there was not many songs, kindly format the device to clear off any virus that would have loggged in.there after reload and check/ OK.
The compressor is overheating and not starting. Could be just the start relay. If this happens again try unplugging it for about an hour then it should work for a while. Heat between doors is normal this is an electric heater designed to keep the doors from sweating. You just noticed it because the refrigerator wasn't cold.
Ive just experienecd the same problem and I cannot get it to play or unfreeze at all. I just bought it 2 weeks ago and im not very happy as I am travelling and cant reinstall the software. Did yourĀ“s eventually work after?

I called and spoke with a Sandisk rep on Jan 16 about the "Sansa m240 startup screen" freeze-up problem that so many are experiencing. He said a bad batch was sent out in early December and on those m240's there is "NO POSSIBLE FIX" for that problem, but no plans for a recall. He said he could not discuss what the problem was, but I guess it would be a hardware issue, since a firmware issue could easily be resolved. He said anyone with this problem is requested to call Sandisk and get a MRA number, then return the m240 to Sandisk for a replacement. If you have one that's frozen on the Sansa m240 startup screen (all other freeze-ups can probably be corrected) take it back to your place of purchase or call Sandisk immediately.
