New GE Microwave JVM1750DM1BB with F4 error in Sensor cooking

We just installed our new GE Elite over the range microwave last week. I tried the sensor reheat for the first time yesterday. I got an F4 error, and figured that it was because my portion size was larger than a single serving. Today, I tried to use the beverage feature (which is also sensor reheat/cooking) to reheat my coffee, and got the F4 error again. The manual doesn't seem to answer what F4 means. Does anyone know? I'm getting the feeling there is something wrong with my brand new microwave....

What does "open humidity sensor" mean, and how do I fix it?

I tried unplugging the microwave for about a minute (probably under a minute, I was impatient), and it didn't help. Perhaps it needs to be unplugged a bit longer.

We paid extra for the model with the sensor heating feature, and we can't even use it! My husband is not going to want to uninstall the microwave and return it, nor is it fair that we would have to pay to repair it ourselves to avoid the hassle.

How does the document you sent for keypad replacement refer to my problem?

    Thanks for your help.

F4 means an open humidity sensor, but sometimes this error is bogus and can be reset by unplugging the oven for a minute or so.

E-1 error on my Kenmore microwave, will not work?

https://homeguides.sfgate.com/cuisinart-bread-maker-error-codes-13409633.html

Error code ERROR 1 presents on Kenmore Elite countertop microwaves with model numbers 56561582011, 16755, 56561584011 or 56561589011. ERROR 1 occurs when the unit has not received enough power to undertake a sensor cooking operation. Sensor cooking is a feature of Kenmore Elite microwaves that adjusts the temperature and cook time of dishes contingent upon information received by sensors in the microwave. In order to perform this function, a microwave must be plugged into a power source for at least five minutes previous to doing so. Thus, ERROR 1 indicates that the unit has not been plugged in for a sufficient length of time.

My GE Spacemaker microwave flashes F4 when I want to cook fish. What should I do?

"F4" on a GE microwave means you have a failed humidity sensor.
You can get GE parts by searching by model number here.
If you have other questions, please contact me directly since FIxYa doesn't always inform us of follow-up questions.
I would need to know the full model number from the tag on it, and the FCC ID number can be helpful, too.

I have GE Profile microwave model PVM1870SM1SS and last week while running, suddently it shut off. There is no power, display buttons and stopped running. Please advise.

From the description a major part has failed, the magnetron is suspect because it suddenly shut down in cycle, if the unit is less than 7 years old it probably has a inverter board and tends to fail, also there is the possibility the keypad control board has stopped working. The microwave in my opinion is worth getting checked out and repaired, but it will be expensive.

Kenmore Gas Range model # 362.75491990 F3 error Oven will not hold temp - error message displays and beeps I Replaced the oven temp sensor same issue Is the control panel bad?

Hi,

Many models of the GE microwave have sensors that can detect humidity from the foods you are cooking. This allows the microwave to make adjustments to the power levels used to cook your food. If "Sensor Error" appears, you should either press "Clear" to cancel the mode or leave the food in the appliance longer to give the microwave more time to detect the food.

Press "Time Cook" to manually enter the time if you receive an error message when trying to use the "Sensor Reheat" mode of your GE microwave. The error message may be caused by the food item being too large or too small to detect.

these are some other code error that will help you in case of next time.

  1. Step 1 Press "Off/Cancel" (or "Cancel/Off" depending on your model) to clear the error code. Note the code if it reappears.
  2. Step 2 Replace the touchpad if the code displayed is "F0," "F7" or "F10." A function key is stuck or shorted.
  3. Step 3 Replace the touchpad or the clock (ERC) if the code "F1" is displayed. Disconnect the ribbon connector to the touchpad. If no code is displayed after an hour, replace the touchpad. If the code displays again, replace the clock.
  4. Step 4 Replace the oven temperature sensor if "F2," "F3" or "F4" is displayed. "F2" indicates the oven temperature is too hot and the oven temperature sensor is suspect. "F3" or "F4" indicates the oven temperature sensor or shorted or open.
  5. Step 5 Replace the ERC if "F5," F6" or "F8" is displayed. The ERC is the main control unit. "F5," F6" and "F8 are codes that indicate problems in the ERC functions.
  6. Step 6 Inspect the door-lock assembly and circuit if "F9" is displayed. The door must lock when the oven is in use. If the lock mechanism is not functioning or if the detection circuit is malfunctioning, the stove will display "F9."

jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); NOTE:

"F3" codes mean your oven temperature sensor has failed or shorted out. The only thing you can do is to replace the sensor.

Take care.

I have an Advantium SCB2000Cbb02, it quit with and Error F4

Sorry, but subject line was too long and it got cut off. So if this does not address all of your symptoms, please reply back with more details.

F4 means you have an open humidity sensor that needs to be replaced.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Microwave Ultrawave with Hood fan

You are right. f4 means shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.
