Its the wrong seal. do not lubricate it at all rubber sweals with any kind of petrolium product. many door boots look right for the model but will be thicker then needed. and will cause rubber to hit the basket.

My Kenmore stackable washer/dryer combo, model 417.94702300 suddenly overfilled with water and started leaking through the back. How can I gain access to the pressure switch tube to clear it?

The tub seal could be broken or or ripped or torn and the tub bearing and the tub seals both need to be replaced then for your washing machine and dryer machine combo.

My Stackable washer/dryer is not operating right

Two things:

1) I would first check your water pump, if something gets in it or the water pump bearing is bad, it makes this kind of a sound.

2) If you can spin the washer drum by hand in either direction, the transmission is bad.

Good Luck!

Burnt lines

Your problem is a bad rear drum seal-if these become worn, torn, or missing close can get caught torn or discolored in the space between the clothes drum and rear of the dryer. Replace the rear drum seal.

Dryer makes a loud squeaking/squealing noise while drying.

If the dryer model number begins with 417, the drum is supported by a ball bearing in back, and a seal and glides up front. Often, the bearing will become very dry, either from years of use, or from excessive lint blowing up into the bearing. If the bearing isn't cracked or otherwise noticeably bad, you can usually solve the issue simply by lubing the bearing with a high temp grease. While the machine is apart...(a major pain in the butt), make sure to check the condition of the seal and glides on the front panel, and replace the belt if it looks at all cracked or frayed.
If this dryer is not a 417 and/or does not have a rear bearing, it's best to get a maintainance kit (belt, idler pulley and drum rollers) and install all the aforementioned parts, as they are the most likely source of screech. Also, check the motor by spinning the shaft manually with the belt off....if that is squeeking, it's motor
time.

Stains on clothing

Usually black oily stains are a symptom of a rear main drum bearing starting to go bad. The seal goes bad first and the packing grease will start to weep out as water gets into the bearings. Is the washer starting to get loud during any spin cycle? If so, I think your bearing is starting to go. It's not a cheap fix, either. The whole back shell of the outer wash tub has to be replaced because the bearings are molded into the plastic. I hope this is helpful in some way.
