SOURCE: can a bad ryobi 18 drill ruin a new 18volt ryobi battery

If the drill has a short in it, then yes, it could short the battery out. Probably in the trigger switch.

SOURCE: Very little juice in freshly charged batteries

have you tried the batterys in any other tool?

you would also need to check the voltage of the batterys they should be at least 18 volts (19 prefered)

then if the batterys do not show charged you would need to make sure the battery charger is putting out voltage.

After that contact your closest Ryobi service center we would check that for free to let you know what you need, I am sure you local place would do the same.

SOURCE: I have a Ryobi 18v

If both batteries won't hold a charge the problem may be the charger (not providing a full charge). If one battery is OK and one not holding a charge, the problem is probably a defect with the battery. I know there expensive, (I recently had to replace one for DeWalt).

SOURCE: Why does my Ryobi 18v

chances are that your batteries are shot. If you do some searching in your local city, see if there is company that will rebuild battery packs for your drill. The packs are around 1/2 to 2/3 the cost of a new pack and they will have better batteries in them. The manufacturer does not put the best grade of batteries in their equipment. So a rebuild is stronger and will last longer.

Ryobi hybrid blower, when trying to charge battery the green fault light comes on

Green light indicates fully charged. If not the case then unplug hold trigger in on position to drain all components then while holding the trigger in on position plug the charger in. If this fails it will need repair.

could be the age of the battery and also is the charger actually working. you might want to have both checked. depending on the age some bateries have a limited amount of recharging cycles before they act like this.

New Ryobi 18v lithium battery goes dead after a couple of seconds. Is there any solution other than returning it?

No, just return it, for the money they should give you one that works. It is common to get a defective Ryobi 18v lithium battery. I've had 2 out of 7 purchased that wouldn't hold a charge. But when you get a good one they work awesome!
