If you are having problems it could be because there is an issue with your bobbin ... or worse case that somehow the timing is off and the hook is not catching the bobbin thread ... but usually that can make a big thread mess underneath
Could be one of multiple problems. Be sure to use only fresh, good quality thread--no old or bargain bin threads. Check if there is a burr or rough spot somewhere in the bobbin thread path that is catching the thread and breaking it. (You can hand rotate the handwheel and watch the needle/thread action in the bobbin area and watch what is happening.) It could be that the bobbin thread tension is too tight, or the bobbin case may even need to be replaced (they do wear with use).
Please elaborate. Is the needle hitting the needle plate so it cannot reach the bobbin thread, or is the needle simply not moving down into the lower position?
This happened to me on several occasions and finally one service tech told me not to use the needle down auto button. Instead when threading the bobbin just move the wheel toward you slowly until the thread catches.
Paul... youtube it.... It's really not difficult. Have to load bobbin with thread first... install bobbin (under the needle plate in its holder) thread cotton from top of machine through the correct catch points to the needle.... catch the thread from the bobbin..... pull threads under pressure foot (but look in youtube... loads of vids)
try changing the needle rethread the machine top & bobbin make sure to use every thread guide make sure the bobbin is not over wound make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case make sure the bobbin is not warped or damaged if you've done all these things then it's also possible that the machine is out of time & needs to be checked at a repair shop
Make sure the bobbin has a 3-5 inch thread tail
Then make sure the top thread has a 3-5 inch tail
Then hold the top thread tail with your fingers (away from the needle)
& use the hand wheel on the right hand side of the machine to slowly
Lower the needle in the bobbin area & see if the bobbin thread will pick
Up that way
