Caller ID for NEC Electra Professional Level I System (KSU)
Does the NEC Electra Professional Level I system (KSU) have the
capability of sending caller ID information to seven D Term Series E-16
Button phones (with 3 line display) if the caller ID information is
coming from the Central Office? Do I need to get a card for the
system, or is the system too old to handle caller ID? Thanks.

To restore the caller ID function on your NEC Infrontia DX2ET 32 BM PABX system, you can follow these steps:
Check the configuration settings: Ensure that the caller ID feature is enabled in the system configuration settings. You may need to consult the manual or a professional to assist with this.
Check the phone lines: Make sure the phone lines are properly connected to the PABX system and are functioning properly.
Check the firmware: Make sure the firmware on your system is up to date and compatible with the caller ID feature. If not, you may need to upgrade the firmware.
Test the caller ID function: Try making a call from an outside line to the PABX system and see if the caller ID is displayed on the phone. If not, try using a different phone to see if the issue is with the phone itself.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to seek the assistance of a professional technician or a vendor who specializes in NEC Infrontia PABX systems. They will be able to diagnose and resolve the problem.
I have a PRI and am asking the same question. I do know that you do have to go into programming to set this up. You also have to have a COIB card installed for this to work for standard Direct Inward Dial lines.
The Last Number Redial feature is invoked by pressing the <LNR/SPD> button then the "*" (asterisk). This is true whether you have the NEC Electra Professional Level I or Level II system. To know what other features are available depends on the system. If you know where your main control box (KSU-Key Service Unit) is, the Level I system has a plastic cabinet, the Level II system has the metal cabinet.
Call forward, off-premise is available on the NEC Electra Professional phone system if you have the Level II system (metal cabinet, not plastic) and you have system software level 700 (7.00) or higher. To get your system software level, press <FNC> - 3 from any display telephone when idle. The procedure to forward is (with phone idle): press <FNC> - dial 60, dial trunk access code (usually - 9), dial telephone number, press <FNC>. Additionally, your station class must be set to allow this feature (by default it is not allowed) and you may need trunk-to-trunk capability turned on in system programming (which is also, by default, not allowed). Hope that all helps.
If your question is what specific system you have, it is the NEC Electra Professional. If your main control box (called a KSU - Key Service Unit) is a plastic cabinet, you have the Level 1 system. If your KSU is metal, you have the Level II (2) system.
On this system since it is an older NEC you will need to purchase some special boards that go into the system and then this would have to be programmed. This is not a task for the untrained.
To redisplay the Caller Id Number, press the Line button again.Caller ID Scrolling is possible if you have a MIF-F(C)-10 card in the system and you have a Scroll key programmed on the phone. If you need further assistance, let me know.
I am making the assumption that only line 1 has caller-ID. Both of my suggestions require services on the phone lines themselves, and not thru the phone system.
Line 1 needs features on the line to allow three-way calling. Then you would hit the Recall key after answering to send a Flash to the Central Office to dial the 2nd number. This takes the transfer away from the phone system and puts it on the CO. This requires more time and effort on the staff answering phones, and if a calls comes in while this is in progress, it's going to roll over to another number in the hunt sequence anyway.
