My Technics SL-BD22 turntables inner ground wire has never totally eliminated the hum buzz sound coming form player. Are there any solutions to solve this problem?
I am sure it is attached to preamp properly, and have tried moving speakers further away from player.

I have found out that the female phono plugs on the turntable are sensative and have to have a solid connection and often adjusted from time to time to eliminate the 60 cycle hum.
Try a ground lift on the preamp power cord. A 3-prong to 2-prong A/C adaptor solved this problem with this turntable/preamp in a friend's old house.
Presuming it has "some" effect, then gnd wire itself it good. Even though there may be a gnd thumbscrew on the preamp try slipping the ground wire under a screw on the main amp or receiver that screws into metal and make sure the gnd wire is touching metal under the screw.
if that didn't help, then you may have:
>a cartridge with an open gnd internally.
>an open gnd wire from the back of the cartridge to the outer shields of the RCA connectors.
>or your neutral & hot wires of your house wiring might be reversed causing something weird.
>a low quality preamp. (it should have a seperate wall adaptor so that only low voltage dc goes near the preamp)

the huming is almost as loud as the volume. this is the only turntable iv had which has had this type of interference. are we doing something wrong or is it a manufacturing / design flaw?
