Have power/deflection board rebuilt. Probably will not last long from my experience. In reality this model is too old for a good, reliable fix (like CTC167 in RCA is too old for a good fix, and Hitachi pincushion circuits).

replace the coolant in the CRTs that will restore the color and brightness to a new appearance. You can get the coolant replacement kit at the following link.

try replacing the fuse. it should be behind the bottom panel near the power cord

Recently had same issue and after EXTENSIVE SEARCHING found all three ICs and replaced them. TV works perfectly, also, replaced convergence ICs at same time. The one 16-pin IC for the regulation ckt. is $49.95 the other 16-pin IC is $19.95 and the 8-pin opto is about $10. This price is for a minimum qty. and must have a business for quote.

The opto couplers are usually what cause that problem in the phillips models.

Go to http://www.urc.philips.com/. The Magnavox CL034 is under another name, US2-PM435, the Phillips version. Drop down menu to left of screen.Pick United States URC models. Then pick My remote is...US2-PM435. These codes really work and being the official samsung site they have many more than one recieves with the remote at time of purchase. Also note that the CL034 is the Magnavox remote (it does not have Phillips insignia)

That model is famous for having bacterial contamination in the CRT coolant causeing halos, and dim pictures with bad overall color issues. You can look into the lens of the CRTs when the set is laying and if the coolant looks cloudy or has any growth there you will notice it right away, and changing the coolant will restore color, clarity and brightness.

The high voltage is failing. The LSB board is about $200 from partstore.com.
