Aspire 5532 won't load windows 8

I had the same experience as you. Windows 8 took a couple of hours to upgrade install and then while i was selecting a desktop color scheme, it failed and rolled back to Windows 7. I had backed up my data so I chose a clean install the second time. Completed in less than 30 minutes with no problems. It actually did not destroy my data during the clean install as I expected but put it in a windows.old directory. There are a couple of lingering after problems. Graphics performance is much slower, downright sluggish at times, under Windows 8 even with the Catalyst driver. Also, CPU fan cutting on and off much more than before and power management not working right as laptop cuts off spontaneously long before battery is depleted. Not sure Win 8 is good for an Acer Aspire 5532 but it is much faster and boot time is significantly reduced.

If the pc is compatible to run windows 8.

If it fails, the pc is not capeable to run windows 8.

The solution is to continue useing windows 7, or buy a new pc with windows 8 installed.
