the built in camera into the toshiba can be locked by the administrator for child safety, make sure that you have an admin privileged to change it. also make sure that no other program is using it. like messenger , aol, yahoo, or skype etc...

My memory card for D3000 is locked but i checked the card, it seems like the lock is not there how do i sort this out?

SD and Micro SD memory cards SD and Micro SD memory cards has a small slide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects data on the memory card or add photos to the SD card. Slide the switch from the LOCK position to the UNLOCK position, which is furthest away from the contacts.
ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I have a canon powershot s1 is, when i turn it on it tells me that there is no memory card......how do i fix this?

The memory card in the camera may be missing, failing, locked (see if the lock slider is in the wrong position), or not formatted properly. Try removing the card and verifying that another device (camera, laptop, desktop, card reader, printer, etc) can read it.

If its fine in other devices, copy off any pictures that are important, and format it. That might resolve the issue.

Another quick test is to see if the camera will read another card.

Please leave feedback if this was helpful, thanks.

Wat is write protect

It's the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card, allowing the camera (or any other device) to write to the card.

Memory card locked

Hi Thanks for your question.

SOLUTION 1 - Unlock the memory card.

There is a Lock switch on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the Lock switch is slid up (unlock position). You will not be able to modify or delete the contents on the memory card if it is locked.

SOLUTION 2 - Toggle the lock switch.

If the lock switch is not on lock:
1. Slide the switch up and down. Repeat this 3 times.
2. Let it stay on the Lock position for 30 seconds.
3. Slide the switch up to unlock the card.
4. Try to transfer files into the device.

For non-SD cards: Format the card

The data on the memory card may be corrupted.

WARNING: Formatting will delete all the files in the device. Backup all your data before formatting.

Thank You for using FixYa.

My Canon A460 says the Card is locked. The lock switch on the card is set to unlock. I have another camera with a similar card. Both cards work in the other camera. neither card will work in the A460 both...

back up your data first, thenyou reformat the memory card in the camera.i guess you have formatted the memory card in another device.canon cameras generally do not accept cards that have been formatted in another device.then sitch off the camera and reinsert the memory card.

Why does my camera say internal memory full. when all the pics usualy go on the card. how did I change it & how to change it back?

probably it does not sees the card ...and put the picks on the internal memory ...
check on the menu to see the storage device feature ..and change it on the card ...Another thing ...get the card out and see if it is not locked..The SD cards have a locking device on the side and if they are on the locked position ..this secures the data and the camera can not delete or store any picture on it ...., so thi smay cause it to store on the internal memory and so to give you the full memory error..

When i attempt to delete pics from the camera it says card locked, how do i unlock the card

if you use an sd card on this camera you have to remove it and see that aside it has a locking device ..like a slide with 2 positions...probably yours is on locked and this protect the content and do not let you delete ...also look in the menu cause it might have a protection also ....somewhere related with the memory ...but most probably ..is the lock prom the card itself...
