I have a standalone aprilaire 360 humidifier. The unit runs on 110V and there are connectins off the side for the humidistat to be wired into it. It runs off of a 24 v transformer, I have a transformer already I can tie into. Question: What is the correct way to wire the unit to the humidistat and transformer?
Your transformer should have multiple wires on it. 2 of them are for 120 volt side hook up usually black is your hot 120 v wire and white is the common or neutral wire. on the other side of the transformer you have 2 more wires these are your low 24v side colors can range from red, green, blue, yellow ect. the wires for 24v dont matter about polarity or which one you hook up. one is 24v and the other is common.

it is best to use a seperate transformer for the hummidifier, but in some cases you can use the low voltage t-stat wire that runs your furnace, you will need to have one wire run to common, and the other to the heating side of your low voltage, normally its the red wire hooked to the w circuit of your terminal board, if you do decide to go with an extra transformer, make sure you you have it wired to bring on the humidifier only when the unit calls for heat, hope that helps

Maybe I can help. this is 24v so it doestn't matter which wire goes where so here goes. 2 wires from humidistat go to furnace, split one of the wires(not both) so they reach the yellow wires on the humidifier. with marettsconnect one of the split wires to one of the yellow wires. do the same to the other split wire and yellow wire. what you should get is one wire from humidistat to furnace then one wire from humidifier to humidistat and one from humidifier to furnace. hope this helps

Some sump pump have a safty switch that will not let the hum. come on if the tank is full of water, I,m not sure if this is the type that you have but make sure that the pump is pumping water. Also your humidistat have an internal switch that it should be set to bypass not to power Note: some humidifier have their own power supply the 550 dose not

Not good. sounds like it blew a fuse. You will have to either find the fuse or have ti replaced.

Hi,
You are absolutely thinking correctly....the humidifier should be running when ever the blower is running and the humidistat is not satisfied...in fact in some cases I have advised people even turn the fan switch on to run the blower longer to get more humidity in the air if needed....some furnaces do not have long enough run times to get enough water evaporated...
You have the idea of how it needs to go, so you should just go ahead and wire it up that way and you'll be glad you did!! You can get a relay for a few bucks and have a much better working system...
