"DC to AC" cords are not really a common item. They are called "Inverters". Typical inverters are 12VDC to 120VAC and are found in mobile applications to operate houshold current type (120VAC) devices. Inverters cost many times more than thier "AC to DC" or "AC to AC" sisters.

An "AC to DC" and "AC to AC" cord however, is a very common item. They are usually called simply "AC Adapters" and are sold in many electronics stores (Best Buy, Fry's, etc.) and electronic specialty stores (Radio Shack) and electrnics suppliers (MCM, etc.) Nearly all of them are designed to reduce the voltage in your home (120 VAC volts alternating current) to a different but usually lower voltage that is either AC or DC.

In order to select the proper AC adapter, you need to know:
(1) Input Voltage - this is the outlet voltage - often 120 volts in N. America, (2) Output voltage - this is the voltage the device needs and is often indicated near the jack, The adapted must match this voltage. (3) the device voltage type - this will be either AC or DC. The adapter must match the type as they are NOT interchangeable. (4) the size and type plug on the cord that will allow it to mate properly with the jack. There are many, many types and it should be tested for fit prior to plugging in and must match the device jack (5) the power requirements - this is usually shown as a number in Watts (w) and / or Amps (a). It is very important that the apdapter power rating is equal to or greater than the amount specified by the device. Failure to meet the requirements above can cause failure of the device, adapter or both.

I hope this helps and good luck!

The last item you need to know is the polarity - nut that is only if it is an AC to DC adapter (there is no polarity on AC to AC adapters). On AC to DC adapters the plug can be wired one of two ways - the way it is wired changes the polarity. Your adapter must match the polarity of the device.

Plugged in and not charging

1) Use a multimeter, check the AC adapter (Charger) for power.
Make sure it is putting out the required voltage.

Have an assistant gently wiggle the cable FROM AC adapter TO laptop. See if there is an intermittent reading on the multimeter.

Have an assistant gently wiggle the power cord.

An intermittent reading on the multimeter indicates a broken wire.
Power cord is bad? Replace cord.
Cable from AC adapter to laptop is bad? Replace AC adapter.

If you have posted the laptop manufacturer NAME and MODEL NUMBER, I could have given you more than generic information.

Model Number is in the Bottom of the laptop. Post back in a Comment.

AC adapter works OK?

Check the DC Power Jack.
The DC Power Jack is the jack on the laptop, that the AC adapter plugs into.

DC Power Jack checks OK, this is your problem,

I need charger for netset pro44 scanning receiver please

  • Hi, i can help.

  • The original is not really gonna be find-able. But there is a DC/DC and AC/DC power cord that are the replacement for them.

  • For AC/DC you can go anywhere and get a 9VDC - 300 mA AC/DC wall wart with a 1.3 mm / 3.4 mm. plug. Radios Shack have gone to selling universal wall worts and selling the tips for them separate. So if you go to radio shack use tip "H" along with the spec I listed above. They will know which one if you give them that info.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

My 4520 Acer Laptop will not charge and will not work on AC power alone.......

You First need to test your AC Adapter Cord...
You can test if you have a secondary known working one.. plug that one in to see if same issue occurs.. OR you will need to test the AC Adapter using a multimeter (available at any home improvement store for under $7).. When testing the Plug End on the AC Adapter - Hold The Negative Test Prod Of the Multimeter to the Outer Side Of the Plug Tip, and Put The Positive(red) Test Prod Inside The Plug Tip... See If You Have Power Through The AC Adapter Tip... You Might Need To Slightly Wiggle The Cord Near The Tip End To See If THere Is A Short In The Cord....

If Cord Tests Good....

You Will Need To Replace The Laptops DC Jack...
The DC Jack is the port where your AC Adapter Plugs into on the laptop..

Your Faulty DC Jack Would Need to be desoldered, the motherboard cleaned of all old flux, Re-Tin The Contact Pads and then Resolder a New DC Jack Onto The Motherboard...

Looking for power cord

That isn't a 'power cord' but rather an adaptor since it supplies DC power from an AC source.
Since you did not include the brand name and model of the monitor, you won't get much help here. I suggest you find that information and then go directly to the manufacturer's website to look for a replacement.

Charger

The light can come in a box with just the light alone (light with battery), single ac(light with ac cord and 1 charger), single dc(light with dc volt cigarette outlet and 1 charger), double (light, 1 ac, 1 dc cord, 2 chargers) pb charger...and so on. The sticker on the box that contains the UPC code should have the listed detail on what the box should contain. Still confused check out the website www.streamlight.com search the light you're looking for and check out the product part number list. Hope that helps ;)
